The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the advisory information is audibly output in the vehicle. 4. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the advisory information is based on a live voice transmission. 5. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the vehicle control information is output to a control interface for shutting down an engine of the vehicle. 6. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the vehicle control information is output to a control interface for at least one of controlling brakes of the vehicle, controlling steering of the vehicle, and controlling acceleration of the vehicle. 7. The method as recited in claim 6, wherein a remote user controls at least one of shutting down an engine of the vehicle, the brakes of the vehicle, the steering of the vehicle, and the acceleration of the vehicle. 8. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the determination of whether the receiving unit is in the target footprint is based in part on a heading and speed of the transmitting unit; further comprising reducing a volume of an audio system prior to outputting the advisory information, wherein the advisory information is repeatedly output at predetermined intervals. 9. The method as recited in claim 8, further comprising determining whether to output the advisory information based on at least one of the current speed and heading of the receiving unit when the receiving unit is in the target footprint, wherein the receiving unit generates the target footprint, the target footprint being smaller than a broadcasting range of the transmitting unit. 10. The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising determining whether to output the advisory information based on at least one of the current speed and heading of the receiving unit when the receiving unit is in the target footprint, wherein the receiving unit generates the target footprint, the target footprint being smaller than a broadcasting range of the transmitting unit.
