The rotary valve according to claim 1, wherein the curved portion is rotationally symmetric with respect to the axis of rotation of the rotary valve. 3. The rotary valve according to claim 1, wherein the curved portion is a concave surface. 4. The rotary valve according to claim 1, wherein the curved portion is a spherical surface forming a spherical segment of the valve body. 5. The rotary valve according to claim 4, wherein the side portions are equally spaced from a center of the spherical segment. 6. The rotary valve according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the first and second fluid connections is open towards both side portions. 7. The rotary valve according to claim 1, further including more than one of the fourth opening. 8. The rotary valve according to claim 1, wherein the fourth opening defines a flow area which is less than 50% of the flow area of the second opening. 9. The rotary valve according claim 1, wherein the first opening in the side portion has an angular extension of more than 180° along a direction of rotation of the rotary valve. 10. The rotary valve according to claim 1, wherein the first opening widens in a direction away from a plane, which is parallel to the side portions. 11. The rotary valve according to claim 1, wherein the valve body is substantially symmetric with respect to a plane, which is parallel to the side portions and bisects the valve body. 12.
