A method and system for providing a personalized entertainment experience that is customized for each user. User actions and user control actions may be associated with each played composition and captured as user feedback about each composition. A targeted time between playbacks of a composition may be determined by using said control actions. A customized sequence of compositions may be automatically generated for each user by utilizing a history of the user actions and/or control actions. The personalized sequence may automatically adapt to changing user preferences and feedback over time. The user's collection of compositions may be automatically integrated with the generated customized sequence. Additional compositions and samples, that are new to a user, may be automatically chosen based on the prior user feedback/history and may be added to the user's collection when indicated by user action(s).

The method of claim 1, wherein said relationship or relationships of the time between playbacks is at least partially dependent on a rating of the user that is determined by said user actions; wherein some user actions cause the rating to be adjusted to a higher magnitude, and other user actions cause the rating to be adjusted to a lower magnitude. 18. The method of claim 1, wherein said relationship or relationships of the time between playbacks is at least partially dependent on a rating of the user that is determined by said user actions; wherein a magnitude of the rating is adjusted to a more favorable preference by control actions that occurred on a first occasion; and the magnitude of the rating is adjusted to a less favorable preference by control actions that occurred on a second occasion. 19. The method of claim 1, wherein said user actions are processed in their order of occurrence; wherein the time between playbacks is increased by some user actions; and wherein the time between playbacks is decreased by other user actions. 20. The method of claim 1, further comprising: storing, in a memory or memories, the details about individual user actions, for a plurality of user actions on the composition, that occurred on different occasions and/or at different user devices;processing, in order of user action occurrence, a plurality of said stored details about user actions, to determine the time between playbacks of the composition; wherein the time between playbacks is increased by some user actions; and wherein the time between playbacks is decreased by other user actions. 21. The method of claim 1, wherein said relationship includes a plurality of different values for the time between playbacks. 22. The method of claim 1, wherein said selecting is based upon a targeted playback time that is based upon said target time between playbacks of the composition. 23. The method of claim 1, wherein a prior target time between playbacks is increased or decreased, based upon one or a plurality, of said user actions. 24. Apparatus for personalized music or entertainment, said apparatus comprising: memory or memories that capture at a user-device or user-devices, details of user actions by a user on a composition;a processor that automatically determines a target time between playbacks of the composition, by using a relationship wherein the time between playbacks of the composition dependently varies with said details of user actions by the user; and automatically selects the composition for playback, at least partially based upon said target time between playbacks of the composition. 25.
