A stand for a surgical microscope is suggested that is provided with vertical and horizontal supports, articulation units and a displacer for displacing the optics carrier in an X direction extending horizontally and transversely to an oblique pivot axis. A balancing apparatus is provided for balancing an optics carrier held by a pivot support of the displacer. The optics carrier is rotatable around a first rotational axis in relation to the pivot support. The balancing compensates for the use with and without a microscope holder and with and without add-on units. The balancing apparatus is provided with Y and Z displacement units comprising respective slides. The weight of a second slide of the Z displacement unit compensates the weight of the optics carrier with and without the microscope holder and with and without the add-on units via the first rotational axis.

The stand according to claim 1, wherein the pivot support is attached with a first end directly to the second articulation unit and with a second end directly to a Y-Z displacement unit for the optics carrier. 3. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the pivot support is provided with an additional displacement unit that determines the position of the parallelogram support with reference to the second articulation unit. 4. The stand according to claim 3, wherein the further displacement unit contains a displacement screw that protrudes through the parallelogram support and is connected in an articulated fashion at one of its ends to a displacement element mounted to the parallelogram support. 5. The stand according to claim 3, wherein the displacement unit comprises an electric drive system. 6. The stand according to claim 4, wherein at least one of the movable parts of the parallelogram support and of the displacement screw are self-locking maintaining positions of the parallelogram support by a self-locking force. 7. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the parallelogram support is provided with an energy storing device assisting with a stored force in a displacement movement. 8. The stand according to claim 7, wherein the energy storing device is at least one of a spring and a gas damper that interconnects and supports movement of the movable parts in the interior of the parallelogram support. 9. The stand according to claim 7, wherein the energy storing device comprises an electric motor. 10. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the parallelogram support has a closed, integrated design comprising a first carrier arm that is arranged inside a second carrier arm of the parallelogram support. 11. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the displacement unit has six degrees of freedom. 12. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the optics carrier is connected to the slide of the Z displacement unit and movable via said slide. 13. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the first slide has a first guidance element and a first insert axially displaceable in the first guidance element, the first insert is secured to a second guidance element of the second slide, a second insert of the second slide is arranged axially displaceably in said second guidance element, and the second insert is connected to the optics carrier. 14. The stand according to claim 13, wherein the second insert and the optics carrier are integrally formed. 15. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the optics carrier along with the second slide is held by a holding part that carries in integrated fashion an electronic system and at least one sensor for motors for remote operation of the first and second slides. 16. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the first and the second slide are combined into a cross-slide and the first insert of the first slide is integrally formed with the second guidance element of the second slide. 17. The stand according to claim 1, wherein the drive systems for the first and second slides are electrified and drivable in sensor-controlled fashion by remote control.
