A method of operating a gaming system, said method comprising: causing at least one display device to display a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;causing a processor to determine if the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeds a predetermined threshold;receiving a wager on a play of a game;regardless of whether the value of the single wagering credit balance is determined to exceed the predetermined threshold and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, causing the processor to deduct the received wager from the single wagering credit balance;causing the processor to determine an outcome of the play of the game;causing the processor to provide any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeded the predetermined threshold: (a) causing the processor to determine a benefit for the play of the game in addition to said determined outcome, and(b) causing the processor to provide the determined benefit. 2. The method of claim 1, the benefit including a form of consideration configured to motivate a user of the gaming device to maintain the value of the single wagering credit balance such that the value of the single wagering credit balance continues to exceed the predetermined threshold. 3. The method of claim 1, which includes causing the processor to determine the benefit to provide to a user of the gaming device prior to causing the processor to provide the determined benefit. 4. The method of claim 3, wherein causing the processor to determine the benefit includes: causing a display of a plurality of potential benefits to the user; andreceiving an indication from the user of a selection of one of the potential benefits. 5. The method of claim 3, wherein causing the processor to determine the benefit includes causing the processor to select a predetermined benefit associated with the determined value of the single wagering credit balance. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein causing the processor to determine if the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeds the predetermined threshold includes: causing the processor to compare the value of the single wagering credit balance to the predetermined threshold; andcausing a display device of the gaming device to display an indication of whether the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeds the predetermined threshold. 7. A gaming system comprising: at least one processor; andat least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to: display a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;determine if the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeds a predetermined threshold;receive an indication of a wager on a play of a game;regardless of whether the value of the single wagering credit balance is determined to exceed the predetermined threshold and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the play of the game;cause a display device to display an indication of any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeded the predetermined threshold: (a) determine a benefit for the play of the game in addition to the determined outcome, and(b) cause the determined benefit to be provided. 8. A gaming system comprising: a gaming server configured to store information associated with a value of a wagering credit balance of at least one gaming device; anda plurality of gaming devices coupled to the gaming server, each of the plurality of gaming devices being configured to: display the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device;send and receive the information associated with the determined value of the wagering credit balance of said gaming device;determine if the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeds a predetermined threshold;receive an indication of a wager on a play of a game;regardless of whether the value of the single wagering credit balance is determined to exceed the predetermined threshold and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the play of the game;cause a display device to display an indication of any award based on the determined outcome; and if the determination was that the value of the single wagering credit balance exceeded the predetermined threshold: (a) determine a benefit for a particular play of the game in addition to enabling a wager on that play of the game, and(b) cause the determined benefit to be provided for said particular play of the game. 9. The gaming system of claim 8, wherein the information associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance of one of the gaming devices includes at least one selected from the group consisting of: a current value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device;an increase in the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device; anda decrease in the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device. 10. A method of operating a gaming system, said method comprising: causing at least one display device to display a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;causing a processor to determine if the value of the single wagering credit balance is below a predetermined threshold;receiving a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the value of the single wagering credit balance is determined to be below the predetermined threshold and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, causing the processor to deduct the received wager from the single wagering credit balance;causing the processor to determine an outcome of the game play;causing the processor to provide any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the value of the single wagering credit balance was below the predetermined threshold, causing the at least one display device to display an indication to a user that a benefit will be provided for a future game play if the value of the single wagering credit balance is increased until it is not below the predetermined threshold, the benefit being in addition to a future determined outcome of the future game play. 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the indication includes a notification that the benefit will be provided for the future game play if the value of the single wagering credit balance is increased until it is not below the predetermined threshold and an indication of an amount of increase in the value of the single wagering credit balance required to cause the value of the single wagering credit balance to equal or exceed the predetermined threshold. 12. A gaming system comprising: at least one processor; andat least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to display a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;determine if the value of the single wagering credit balance is below a predetermined threshold;receive an indication of a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the value of the single wagering credit balance is determined to be below the predetermined threshold and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the game play;provide any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the value of the single wagering credit balance was below the predetermined threshold, cause at least one display device to display an indication to a user that a benefit will be provided for a future game play if the value of the single wagering credit balance is increased until it is not below the predetermined threshold, the benefit being in addition to a future determined outcome of the future game play. 13. A gaming system comprising: a gaming server configured to store information associated with a value of a single wagering credit balance of at least one gaming device; anda plurality of gaming devices coupled to the gaming server, each of the plurality of gaming devices being configured to: display the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device;send and receive the information associated with the value of the wagering credit balance of said gaming device;determine if the value of the single wagering credit balance is below a predetermined threshold;receive an indication of a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the value of the single wagering credit balance is determined to be below the predetermined threshold and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the game play;cause a display device to display an indication of any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the value of the single wagering credit balance was below the predetermined threshold, cause a display of an indication to a user that a benefit will be provided for a future game play if the value of the single wagering credit balance is increased until it is not below the predetermined threshold, the benefit being in addition to a future determined outcome of the future game play. 14. The gaming system of claim 13, wherein the information associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance of one of the gaming devices includes at least one selected from the group consisting of: a current value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device;an increase in the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device; anda decrease in the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device. 15. A method of operating a gaming system, said method comprising: causing a processor to determine a condition associated with a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;causing the processor to determine if the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies a predetermined condition;receiving a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies the predetermined condition and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, causing the processor to deduct the received wager from the single wagering credit balance;causing the processor to determine an outcome of the game play;causing the processor to provide any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the condition associated with the value of the wagering credit balance satisfied the predetermined condition: (a) causing the processor to determine a benefit for the game play in addition to said determined outcome, and(b) causing the processor to provide the determined benefit. 16. The method of claim 15, wherein the condition associated with the value of the wagering credit balance is indicative of a state of the gaming device at a point in time during a plurality of plays of the game. 17. The method of claim 15, wherein causing the processor to determine the benefit for the game play includes: causing a display of a plurality of potential benefits; andenabling the user to indicate one of the plurality of potential benefits. 18. The method of claim 15, wherein causing the processor to determine the benefit for the game play includes causing the processor to select a predetermined benefit associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance. 19. The method of claim 15, wherein causing the processor to determine if the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies the predetermined condition includes causing the processor to compare the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance to the predetermined condition. 20. A gaming system comprising: at least one processor; andat least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to: determine a condition associated with a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;determine if the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies a predetermined condition;receive a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies the predetermined condition and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the received wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the game play;provide any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfied the predetermined condition: (a) determine a benefit for the game play in addition to said determined outcome, and(b) provide the determined benefit. 21. A gaming system comprising: a gaming server configured to store information associated with a value of a single wagering credit balance of at least one gaming device; anda plurality of gaming devices coupled to the gaming server, each of the plurality of gaming devices being configured to: determine a condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device;send and receive the information associated with the value of the wagering credit balance of said gaming device;determine if the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies a predetermined condition;receive an indication of a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies the predetermined condition and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the game play;cause a display device to display an indication of any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the condition associated with the value of the wagering credit balance satisfied the predetermined condition: (a) determine a benefit for the game play in addition to said determined outcome, and(b) provide the determined benefit. 22. A method of operating a gaming system, said method comprising: causing a processor to determine a condition associated with a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;causing the processor to determine if the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies a predetermined condition;receiving a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies the predetermined condition and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, causing the processor to deduct the received wager from the single wagering credit balance;causing the processor to determine an outcome of the game play;causing the processor to provide any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfied the predetermined condition, causing the processor to provide an indication of a benefit to be provided for a future game play in addition to a future determined outcome of the future game play. 23. The method of claim 22, wherein the indication of the benefit includes a notification that the benefit will continue to be provided if the value of the single wagering credit balance is maintained above a predetermined threshold and an indication of an amount of increase in the value of the wagering credit balance required to cause the value of the single wagering credit balance to be above the predetermined threshold. 24. A gaming system comprising; at least one processor; andat least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to: determine a condition associated with a value of a single wagering credit balance of a gaming device;determine if the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies a predetermined condition;receive a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies the predetermined condition and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the received wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the game play;provide any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfied the predetermined condition, provide an indication of a benefit to be provided for a future game play in addition to a future determined outcome of the future game play. 25. A gaming system comprising: a gaming server configured to store information associated with a value of a single wagering credit balance of at least one gaming device; anda plurality of gaming devices coupled to the gaming server, each of the plurality of gaming devices being configured to: send and receive the information associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device;determine a condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance of said gaming device;determine if the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies a predetermined condition;receive an indication of a wager on a game play;regardless of whether the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance satisfies the predetermined condition and independent of any player selection of the single wagering credit balance, deduct the wager from the single wagering credit balance;determine an outcome of the game play;cause a display device to display an indication of any award based on the determined outcome; andif the determination was that the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance of the gaming device satisfied the predetermined condition, provide an indication of a benefit to be provided for a future game play in addition to a future determined outcome of the future game play. 26. The gaming system of claim 25, wherein the information associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance includes the condition associated with the value of the single wagering credit balance for at least one of the plurality of gaming devices. 27. The gaming system of claim 25, wherein, for at least one of the plurality of gaming devices, the value of the single wagering credit balance of that at least one gaming device is a historical value based, at least in part, on: a current wagering credit balance of one of the plurality of gaming devices, anda past wagering credit balance of one of the plurality of gaming devices. 28. The method of claim 1, wherein the value of the wagering credit balance is a historical value based, at least in part, on: a current wagering credit balance of the gaming device, anda past wagering credit balance of the gaming device. 29. The gaming system of claim 7, wherein the value of the wagering credit balance is a historical value based, at least in part, on: a current wagering credit balance of the gaming device, anda past wagering credit balance of the gaming device. 30.
