A blood glucose monitoring kit includes a case constructed in the form of a bi-fold wallet which comprises an upper flap and a lower flap that are connected together through a fold. Blood glucose monitoring electronics are preferably integrated directly into the upper flap of the case, the electronics including a printed circuit board (PCB), a test port mounted on the PCB and a display mounted on the PCB. Preferably, the upper flap is provided with an opening through which the test port is externally accessible. Additionally, the upper flap is provided with a window through which the display is externally visible. A pouch is secured onto the inner surface of the lower flap and is sized and shaped to retain a plurality of disposable test components.

The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the case comprises an inner layer and an outer layer and a layer of cushioned material is disposed between the outer layer and the inner layer. 4. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 3, wherein the blood analyte monitoring electronics are at least partially disposed between the outer and inner layers of the case. 5. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 4, wherein each of the inner and outer layers is constructed out of a non-plastic material. 6. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 5, wherein the inner and outer layers are secured together about their peripheries. 7. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 6, wherein the outer layer is constructed out of a soft fabric material. 8. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 7, wherein the outer layer is constructed out of a water resistant material. 9. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 3, wherein the case further comprises a pair of stiffening members which are disposed between the inner and outer layers. 10. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 9, wherein the pair of stiffening members are spaced apart so as to define the fold in the case. 11. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in 1, wherein the case includes means for securing the case in a closed position. 12. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 1, wherein said blood analyte monitoring electronics additionally include a switch formed on the printed circuit board. 13. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 12, wherein regulation of said switch is effected using a button. 14. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 13, the button being externally accessible through an opening in the case. 15. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 14 further comprising a pouch secured onto the inner layer. 16. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the kit performs blood glucose measurement. 17. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the kit performs blood ketone measurement. 18. The blood analyte monitoring kit as claimed in claim 1, comprising a battery compartment mounted on the printed circuit board and disposed inside the case. 19. A blood glucose monitor, comprising: a foldable case comprising: a first flap; anda second flap;the first and second flaps comprising an outer layer and an inner layer, the inner layer in facing arrangement with the outer layer,wherein the foldable case folds and unfolds about a fold between the first flap and a second flap of the case, andblood glucose monitoring electronics at least partially disposed between the inner and outer layers, the blood glucose monitoring electronics comprises: a test port externally accessible from outside of the case when folded, wherein the test port is accessible through an opening in the fold in the case;a display to display test results that is externally visible from the outside of the case when folded,wherein the blood glucose monitoring electronics are operational to perform blood glucose measurement when the case is folded. 20. The blood glucose monitor as claimed in claim 19 wherein a layer of cushioned material is disposed between the inner and outer layers. 21. The blood glucose monitor as claimed in claim 19, wherein the inner and outer layers are constructed out of a soft fabric material. 22. The blood glucose monitor as claimed in claim 19, further comprising means for securing the case in a folded position. 23. The blood glucose monitor as claimed in claim 19, comprising a battery compartment mounted on the printed circuit board and disposed inside the case. 24. The blood glucose monitor as claimed in claim 19, comprising a switch formed on the printed circuit board, wherein the switch is triggered by a button that is externally accessible from the outside of the case when folded.
