A device for coupling first and second telephone sets to multiple digital voice channels, for use with a first telephone wiring comprising two or four wires and being part of a local loop connecting to the exchange of a PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), the first telephone wiring being connected to carry a first full-duplex serial digital data signal, the first full-duplex digital data carrying time-domain multiplexed first and second digital telephone signals, said device comprising: a first port configured to couple to the first telephone set;a first transceiver coupled to said first port, and configured to process a first received digital telephone signal to extract a second telephone service signal, and transmit the first telephone service signal to the first telephone set;a second port configured to couple to the second telephone set;a second transceiver coupled to said second port, and configured to process a second received digital telephone signal to extract a second telephone service signal, and transmit the second telephone service signal to the second telephone set;a first connector configured to connect to the first telephone wiring;a third transceiver coupled to said first connector configured to transmit the first serial digital data signal to, and receive the first serial digital data signal from, the first telephone wiring; anda single enclosure housing said first, second and third transceivers, said first and second ports and said first connector;wherein said first, second and third transceivers are coupled to pass digital data there between. 2. The device according to claim 1, wherein the first full-duplex serial digital data signal is based on a PCM or ATM protocol. 3. The device according to claim 1, wherein the first full-duplex serial digital data signal is Digital Subscriber Line (xDSL) based, and the third transceiver is a xDSL modem. 4. The device according to claim 3, wherein the first telephone wiring includes a single telephone wire pair, the first full-duplex serial digital data signal is Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) based, and the third transceiver is an ADSL modem. 5. The device according to claim 3, wherein the first telephone wiring includes two telephone wire pairs, the first full-duplex serial digital data signal is High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (HDSL) based, and the third transceiver is an HDSL modem. 6. The device according to claim 3, wherein the first telephone wiring includes two telephone wire pairs, the second full-duplex serial digital data signal is High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (HDSL) based, and the fourth transceiver is an HDSL modem. 7. The device according to claim 1, wherein the first full-duplex serial digital data signal is ISDN-BRA (Integrated Services Digital Network-Basic rate Access) based, and the third transceiver is an ISDN modem. 8. The device according to claim 1, wherein the first full-duplex serial digital data signals comprises at least 16 digital telephone channels. 9. The device according to claim 1, wherein said first full-duplex serial digital data signals comprises 30 digital telephone channels. 10. The device according to claim 1, wherein said first and second telephone sets are analog telephone sets and wherein said first and second ports are analog telephone connectors. 11. The device according to claim 10, further comprising: a first subscriber line interface coupled between said first transceiver and said first port and operative to convert between said first digital voice channel and a first analog telephone signal, to couple the first analog telephone set to the first analog telephone signal. 12. The device according to claim 11, further comprising: a second subscriber line interface coupled between said second transceiver and said second port and operative to convert between said second digital voice channel and a second analog telephone signal, to couple the second analog telephone set to the second analog telephone signal. 13. The device according to claim 12, further operative to support exchange/PBX-type features between the first and second analog telephone sets. 14. The device according to claim 13, wherein said exchange/PBX-type features are at least one of: hold/call pick-up; call transfer; conference call; intercom; ringing all; repertory dialing; and memory dialing. 15. The device according to claim 13, wherein said exchange/PBX-type features include an intercom feature wherein a telephone session can be executed between the first and second telephone sets. 16. The device according to claim 1, further comprising: a plug configured to detachably electrically and mechanically couple said device to an outlet opening in a wall. 17. The device according to claim 1, wherein said single enclosure is constructed to have at least one of the following: a form substantially similar to that of a standard outlet;wall mounting elements substantially similar to those of a standard wall outlet;a shape allowing direct mounting in an outlet opening or cavity; anda form to at least in part substitute for a standard outlet. 18. The device according to claim 1, wherein said first full-duplex serial digital data signal is using a first protocol and wherein said digital voice channels are using a second protocol distinct from said first protocol, and wherein the device is further comprising a protocol converter coupled between said first and second transceivers adapted to convert between said first and second protocols. 19. The device according to claim 1 further comprising: a drop-and-insert multiplexer coupled between said first and second transceivers and operative to pass selected digital voice channels between said first telephone wiring and said first port. 20. The device according to claim 1 further comprising: a life-line feature, wherein the device further comprises a third port for coupling to an analog telephone signal, and said third port is coupled to said first port. 21. The device according to claim 20 further comprising: a low pass filter coupled for substantially passing only said analog telephone signal between said first port and said third port. 22. A method of coupling digital voice channels to analog telephone sets; the method comprising: receiving a plurality of digital telephone signals over a first wiring wherein said plurality of digital telephone signals are carried in time-division multiplexed digital voice channels;processing said received signals to extract telephone service signals; andcoupling each of said telephone service signals to a respective connector for transmission to an analog telephone set.
