A surgical stapling instrument comprising: an actuation system for selectively generating a plurality of control motions;a surgical end effector operably coupled to said actuation system, said surgical end effector comprising:an elongated channel operably interfacing with said actuation system;an anvil that is movably supported relative to said elongated channel between an open position and a closed position in response to closure motions applied thereto by said actuation system;a surgical staple cartridge operably supported in said elongated channel, said surgical staple cartridge operably supporting at least two lines of staple pushers therein wherein each said staple pusher operably supports at least one unformed surgical staple thereon; andan actuation member operably interfacing with said actuation system such that upon application of a firing control motion thereto, said actuation member is axially driven within said surgical staple cartridge between a starting position and an ending position, said actuation member having rotatable staple driving members thereon corresponding to each one of said at least two lines of staple pushers, each said staple driving member being rotatable from an initial position to an actuated position upon driving contact with a corresponding activation portion of said elongated channel such that as said actuation member is driven from said starting to said ending position, each said rotatable staple driving member serially engages each said activation portion of said elongated channel which thereby causes said rotatable staple driving members to rotate into driving engagement with each said staple pusher corresponding to each said activation portion of said elongated channel to drive said corresponding staple pushers towards said anvil when said anvil is in said closed position to thereby bring said at least one surgical staple supported thereon into forming contact with said anvil. 2. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 1 wherein each said pusher member is movable within said surgical staple cartridge from an unfired position to an intermediate position wherein said corresponding rotatable staple driving member can be brought into said driving engagement therewith by a corresponding distal wedge segment on said actuation member. 3. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 1 wherein said actuation member operably supports a cutting instrument thereon. 4. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 1 wherein said actuation member is configured to slidably engage said anvil to retain said anvil at a desired spacing relative to said surgical staple cartridge as said actuation member is axially driven from said starting to said ending position. 5. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 1 wherein each said corresponding activation portion of said elongated channel comprises an activation cavity that corresponds to each said staple pusher. 6. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 1 wherein said surgical staple cartridge has a centrally disposed longitudinal slot therein to axially receiving a portion of said actuation member therein and wherein said and at least two lines of staple pushers comprise: a first inboard line of first inboard staple pushers movably supported within said surgical staple cartridge adjacent to a first lateral side of said longitudinal slot;a first outboard line of first outboard staple pushers movably supported within said surgical staple cartridge adjacent to said first inboard line of said first inboard staple pushers;a second inboard line of second inboard staple pushers movably supported within said surgical staple cartridge adjacent to a second lateral side of said longitudinal slot; anda second outboard line of second outboard staple pushers movably supported within said surgical staple cartridge adjacent to said second inboard line of second inboard staple pushers. 7. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 6 wherein said rotatable staple driving members comprise: a first outboard staple driving member and a first inboard staple driving member, each said first outboard staple driving member and said second outboard staple driving member being rotatably coupled to a first side of said actuation member; anda second outboard staple driving member and a second inboard staple driving member, each said second outboard staple driving member and said second inboard staple driving member being rotatably coupled to a second side of said actuation member. 8. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 7 wherein said first outboard staple driving member and said first inboard staple driving member are attached to a first rotatable shaft such that said first inboard staple driving member is radially offset on said first rotatable shaft from said first outboard staple driving member and wherein said second outboard staple driving member and said second inboard staple driving member are attached to a second rotatable shaft such that said second inboard staple driving member is radially offset on said second rotatable shaft from said second outboard staple driving member. 9. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 7 wherein said corresponding activation portion of said elongated channel comprises: a first inboard line of first inboard activation portions in said elongated channel wherein each said first inboard activation portion corresponds to a first inboard staple pusher;a first outboard line of first outboard activation portions in said elongated channel wherein each said first outboard portion corresponds to a first outboard staple pusher;a second inboard line of second inboard activation portions in said elongated channel wherein each said second inboard activation portion corresponds to a second inboard staple pusher; anda second outboard line of second outboard activation portions in said elongated channel wherein each said second outboard portion corresponds to a second outboard staple pusher. 10. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 9 wherein: each said first inboard activation portion comprises a first inboard cavity;each said first outboard activation portion comprises a first outboard cavity;each said second inboard activation portion comprises a second inboard cavity; andeach said second outboard activation portion comprises a second outboard cavity. 11. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 7 wherein said transmission arrangement comprises a closure transmission supported on said tool mounting portion in operable engagement with the tool drive assembly of the robotic system for receiving a closure rotary output motion therefrom, said closure transmission in operable engagement with a portion of said elongated shaft assembly such that upon application of said closure rotary output motion in a first direction to said closure transmission assembly, said portion of said elongated shaft assembly applies a closure motion to said anvil and upon application of said closure rotary output motion in a second direction to said closure transmission, said portion of said elongated shaft assembly applies an opening motion to said anvil. 12. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 1 wherein said actuation system comprises a robotic system that has a tool drive assembly that is operatively coupled to a control unit of the robotic system that is operable by inputs from an operator and is configured to provide said plurality of control motions to said actuation member of said surgical end effector. 13. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 12 further comprising: an elongated shaft assembly operably coupled to said surgical end effector and configured to transmit said control motions thereto; anda tool mounting portion operably coupled to said elongated shaft assembly and configured to operably interface with the tool drive assembly of the robotic system, said tool mounting portion operably supporting a transmission arrangement thereon configured to apply at least one said control motion to said elongated shaft assembly in response to at least one rotary output motion applied thereto from the tool drive assembly. 14. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 13 wherein said elongated shaft assembly comprises a rotary drive shaft member operably interfacing with said actuation member and a firing transmission that is operably coupled to a corresponding rotatable body portion supported on the tool drive assembly such that upon application of a firing rotary output motion in a first direction to said firing transmission by said rotatable body portion, said firing transmission rotates said rotary drive shaft to thereby drive said actuation member from said starting to said ending position. 15. The surgical stapling instrument of claim 13 wherein said elongated shaft assembly defines a longitudinal tool axis and has a proximal end portion that is rotatably supported on said tool mounting portion and wherein said transmission arrangement comprises a rotational transmission operably coupled to a corresponding rotatable body portion supported on the tool drive assembly such that upon application of a shaft rotation output motion in a first direction to said rotational transmission by said rotatable body portion, said rotational transmission rotates said elongated shaft assembly about said longitudinal tool axis.
