The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein a ratio of the weight of chromium to a combined weight of nickel, titanium, and chromium is less than 0.0075. 3. The endoprosthesis of claim 2, wherein a ratio of a combined weight of nickel and titanium a weight of the metallic film is at least 0.99. 4. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the chromium is uniformly distributed throughout the metallic film. 5. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the metallic film is a nickel, titanium, and chromium alloy. 6. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the metallic film is a vapor deposited film. 7.
