The repair device of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first anchor and the second anchor includes a separate strand loop, the flexible strand that couples the first and second anchors passing through the flexible strand loop to couple the first and second anchors. 4. The repair device of claim 1, wherein the flexible strand passes through the first and second anchors to directly couple the first and second anchors. 5. The repair device of claim 1, further comprising a single cannula, wherein the distal portion of each of the first and second inserters passes through the single cannula. 6. The repair device of claim 5, wherein the cannula includes a handle. 7. The repair device of claim 6, wherein each of the first and second inserters includes a handle coupled to the corresponding shaft. 8. The repair device of claim 1, wherein the flexible strand is a suture strand. 9. The repair device of claim 1, wherein the flexible strand includes a slip knot. 10. The repair device of claim 1, wherein the flexible strand is coupled to the first and second anchors such that tensioning the flexible strand rotates the first and second anchors after the first and second anchors are deployed by the first and second inserters outside the soft tissue. 11. The repair device of claim 1, wherein the distal portion of the first elongated shaft of the first inserter includes a sharp edge defined by a slanted surface. 12. The repair device of claim 1, wherein the first and second planar end faces of the first anchor are perpendicular to the first longitudinal axis of the first anchor. 13. A fibrous tissue repair device for repairing a defect in soft tissue comprising: a first anchor having a first longitudinal axis and defining a first longitudinal passage between first and second ends of the first anchor, the first longitudinal passage having a semi-circular portion extending for at least a portion of the first longitudinal passage, the semi-circular portion ends at planar surfaces;a first inserter having a first elongated shaft with a distal portion received along the first longitudinal passage of the first anchor, the first inserter having a buttress transverse to the first elongated shaft for abutting on the first anchor, the first inserter configured for deploying the first anchor outside the soft tissue;a second anchor having a second longitudinal axis and defining a second longitudinal passage between first and second ends of the second anchor, the second longitudinal passage having a semi-circular portion extending for at least a portion of the second longitudinal passage, the semi-circular portion ends at planar surfaces;a second inserter having a second elongated shaft with a distal portion received along the second longitudinal passage of the second anchor, the second inserter having a buttress transverse to the second elongated shaft for abutting on the second anchor, the second inserter configured for deploying the second anchor outside the soft tissue; anda flexible strand coupling the first and second anchors. 19. The repair device of claim 18, further comprising a single cannula, wherein the distal portion of each of the first and second inserters passes through the single cannula. 20. The repair device of claim 19, wherein the cannula includes a handle. 21. The repair device of claim 20, wherein each of the first and second inserters includes a handle coupled to the corresponding shaft. 22. The repair device of claim 18, wherein the flexible strand is a suture strand. 23. The repair device of claim 22, wherein the flexible strand includes a slip knot. 24. The repair device of claim 18, wherein the flexible strand is coupled to the first and second anchors such that tensioning the flexible strand rotates the first and second anchors after the first and second anchors are deployed by the first and second inserters outside the soft tissue. 25.
