The upper body support according to claim 2, wherein the pectoral assembly defines at least one arm extending obliquely relative to the vertical strut and carrying a pectoral pad rotatably on and pivotable relative to the at least one arm. 4. The upper body support according to claim 3, wherein a ball and joint connection connects the pectoral pad to the at least one arm, the pectoral pad pivotable relative to the at least one arm. 5. The upper body support according to claim 2, wherein the pectoral assembly includes a base part, and first and second arms pivotally mounted to the base part, the first and second arms pivot relative to the base part. 6. The upper body support according to claim 1, wherein the posterior assembly includes a posterior plate, and a support panel having an elongate segment adjustably secured to the posterior plate at a plurality of locations, the support panel defining arms extending from the elongate segment such that the arms are securable to the at least one strap connecting to the pectoral assembly. 7. The upper body support according to claim 6, wherein the at least one strap secures to the pectoral assembly, and extends through a slot formed on one of said arms of the support panel. 8. The upper body support according to claim 1, wherein each of the hinges is lockable at an angle relative to the connecting bar. 9. The upper body support according to claim 1, wherein the lower hinge is arranged to bias away from a wearer's sternum and the upper hinge is arranged to bias towards the pectoral assembly toward a wearer's chest. 10. The upper body support according to claim 1, wherein the pectoral assembly includes a pectoral pad, and the upper body support further comprises at least one rotatable bracket mounted about the pectoral pad and arranged to carry the at least one strap. 11. The upper body support according to claim 1, wherein the posterior assembly includes a support bar including rotatable brackets attached thereto, and the at least one strap connects the posterior assembly to the anterior assembly via the rotatable brackets. 12. An upper body support for use with a torso orthosis, the upper body support comprising: an anterior plate;a sternal assembly connected to the anterior plate by a vertical strut;a pectoral assembly connected to the sternal assembly and defining a substantially straight stem and first and second arms extending obliquely above from the stem relative to the vertical strut, the first and second arms each having a bent portion carrying a pivotable pectoral pad and orienting the first and second arms in an outwardly perpendicular direction relative to the stem. 13. The upper body support according to claim 12, wherein the pectoral pad connects to the bent portion by a ball and socket connection oriented perpendicular to the stem. 14. The upper body support according to claim 12, wherein the pectoral pad carries padding material. 15. The upper body support according to claim 12, wherein the sternal assembly has lower and upper hinges and a connecting bar located between and linking the lower and upper hinges, the lower hinge is arranged to bias in an outwardly direction and the upper hinge is arranged to bias in the inwardly direction. 16. The upper body support according to claim 12, further comprising a D-ring mounted and rotatable about each of the pectoral pads and secured to end portions of each respective arm. 17. The upper body support according to claim 12, wherein the pectoral pads are separated from one another by the first and second arms. 18. The upper body support according to claim 12, wherein the pectoral pad defines a plurality of ventilation openings. 19. The upper body support according to claim 12, wherein the arm carries a ball connection oriented perpendicularly to the stem, the pectoral pad carrying a socket connection arranged to snap fit to the ball. 20. The upper body support according to claim 12, wherein each of the first and second arms tapers in width from the stem to the pectoral pad.
