Methods and systems for grouping, recovering, and processing ice obtained from an ice source, i.e., a glacier, ice sheet, ice cap, etc., are described herein. In particular, the ice obtained from the ice source is separated and grouped according to common unique properties and processed as a beverage for consumption having the same unique properties.

1. A method for preparing water obtained from an ice source, comprising: dividing a glacial ice source into at least two glacial ice segments;determining characteristics relating to the at least two segments of the ice glacial source, wherein the characteristics between the at least two segments are different;in response to determining characteristics, grouping the at least two segments; andprocessing the at least two segments separately and directing recovered water from at least one of the at least two segments to a bottle, wherein characteristics of the water from the at least one layer remains substantially the same and wherein the characteristics of said layer relates to at least one of age, purity, density, chemical content, and physical properties of water. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the processing step comprises transforming the water from a solid state to a liquid state. 3. The method of claim 1, further comprising: packaging at least two processed segments separately; andlabeling the bottle according to determined characteristics. 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the packaging step includes partitioning the at least two segments into containers. 5. The method of claim 4, wherein the containers are bottles between about 0.1 liter and about 10 liters. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the determining step comprises at least one of ice core sampling, carbon dating, and measuring pH of the plurality of layers. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the determining step comprises analyzing gas trapped within the at least two segments. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the ice source is a glacier adjacent a navigable waterway. 9. A method for preparing water obtained from a glacial ice source, comprising: determining characteristics relating to at least two glacial ice segments of the glacial ice source, wherein the characteristics between the at least two segments are different;in response to determining characteristics, grouping the at least two segments;recovering ice from the at least two segments separately; andprocessing the ice from the at least two segments separately, wherein the processing comprises separately transforming the ice from the at least two segments from a solid state to water in a liquid state and directing said water in a liquid state to a bottle. 10. The method of claim 9, wherein the characteristics of the at least two segments relate to least one of age, purity, density, chemical content, and physical structure of the water. 11. The method of claim 9, wherein the determining step comprises analyzing gas trapped within the at least two segments. 12. The method of claim 9, further comprising: packaging the processed water from at least two processed segments separately; andlabeling the packaging of the water from at least two segments according to the determined characteristics. 13. The method of claim 9, wherein the processing step comprises separately processing the ice from the glacial at least two segments on a boat. 14. A method for partitioning and preparing a beverage from a glacial ice source substantially adjacent to a navigable waterway, comprising: identifying a volume of glacial ice having a vertical depth;analyzing gas trapped within said volume of glacial ice to determine and divide at least a first layer and at least a second layer;recovering water from said first layer, said step of recovering conducted so as not to include substantial amounts of water or ice from said second layer;processing the water from the first layer, wherein characteristics of the water from the first layer remain substantially the same, and directing said water from the first layer to a container. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein the characteristics of said layers relate to at least one of age, purity, density, chemical content, and physical properties of the water.
