Extensive use of the high resolution and bandwidth of such user input devices is combined with strategies to avoid unintentional inputs and with dense and intuitive interactive graphical displays.

A device for controlling a display of content, the device comprising: means for determining a user gesture made with an input device in response to a movement of the input device, the user gesture being one of a plurality of defined gestures; andmeans for controlling the display of content in response to the determined user gesture and a media navigation context of the displayed content wherein the control of the displayed content changes depending on the media navigation context of the displayed content. 10. The device of claim 9, wherein the means for controlling the display of content includes means for controlling a speed at which the content is displayed. 11. The device of claim 9, wherein the means for controlling the display of content includes means for controlling a time position at which the content is displayed. 12.
