1. A system for closing an aperture in a biological tissue, the system comprising: a handle;a telescopic shaft connected to the handle; anda deployment scaffold connected to the shaft, wherein the deployment scaffold is configured to releasably retain a surgical implant and the deployment scaffold is configured to deploy and attach the surgical implant to the biological tissue, wherein the deployment scaffold comprises:a plurality of deployment arms connected to the telescopic shaft; anda plurality of attachment members that are releasably connected to the deployment arms, wherein the attachment members attach the surgical implant to the biological tissue, the attachment members releasable from the arms upon proximal movement of a wire towards the handle, the attachment members releasable in a direction that is perpendicular to a longitudinal extent of the deployment arms. 2. The system according to claim 1, wherein the deployment arms are flexible. 3. The system according to claim 1, wherein the deployment arms are rigid. 4. The system according to claim 1, wherein the number of attachment members is independent of the number of deployment arms. 5. The system according to claim 1, wherein the attachment members are selected from the group consisting of clips, hooks, and barbs. 6. The system according to claim 1, wherein attachment is obtained by rotational or linear movement of the attachment members. 7. The system according to claim 1, wherein the deployment scaffold further comprises: a frame;wherein the plurality of deployment arms are hingedly connected to the frame, wherein the frame is configured to move from a retained position to at least one deployed position. 8. The system according to claim 7, wherein the deployment arms releasably connect to a central shaft slidably disposed within the telescopic shaft when the deployment scaffold is in a closed configuration. 9. The system according to claim 8, wherein the deployment arms are released from the central shaft by movement of the central shaft from a closed configuration to an open configuration. 10. The system according to claim 1, wherein the deployment scaffold is configured to allow for deployment of the implant and retraction of the implant while the implant is within a patient's body. 11. The system according to claim 1, wherein the deployment scaffold is configured to allow for a plurality of deployment positions. 12. The system according to claim 1, wherein the deployment scaffold comprises an articulating member that allows for adjustment of a position and an orientation of the surgical implant relative to the aperture in the tissue. 13. The system according to claim 12, wherein the articulating member allows for vertical flexibility of the deployment scaffold in order to press the implant against the tissue. 14. The system according to claim 1, wherein the implant is connected to the system in an operating room. 15. The system according to claim 1, wherein the surgical implant is a patch. 16. The system according to claim 15, wherein the patch is comprised of surgical mesh. 17. The system according to claim 1, wherein the telescopic shaft is flexible. 18. The system according to claim 1, wherein the telescopic shaft is rigid. 19. The system according to claim 1, wherein the aperture in the biological tissue is an aperture in an abdominal wall. 20. The system according to claim 1, wherein deployment is accomplished by linear movement of the shaft with respect to the handle. 21. The system according to claim 1, wherein the telescopic shaft comprises: a hollow member having a rod that is configured to extend from and retract into the hollow member.
