The sensor of claim 1, wherein the analysis chemistry reagent comprises a nucleic acid enzyme. 3. The sensor of claim 1, wherein the porous substrate is a frit. 4. The sensor of claim 1, wherein: the sensor cap further comprises a sensor cap baffle and baffle flares disposed on opposing sides of the sensor cap baffle; andwherein the first channel extends axially through the sensor cap, the second and third channels extend axially through the sensor base, and an upper portion of the first channel of the sensor cap is to receive and removably couple tightly to a syringe having a sample for injection of the sample into the sensor housing. 5. The sensor of claim 1, wherein: the first interlocking region couples to the second interlocking region to attach the sensor cap to the sensor base and to hold the porous substrate between the sensor cap and the sensor base and in fluid connection with the first and third channels. 6. The sensor of claim 1, wherein the analysis chemistry reagent comprises a fluorophore. 7. The sensor of claim 3, wherein the frit comprises cellulose or plastic. 8. The sensor of claim 4, wherein the sensor cap and the sensor base have been welded together. 9. The sensor of claim 1, wherein the analysis chemistry reagent comprises a saccharide. 10. The sensor of claim 1, wherein the analysis chemistry reagent comprises a nucleic acid enzyme, a fluorophore and a saccharide,the porous substrate is a frit comprising cellulose or plastic, andwherein the first channel extends axially through the sensor cap, the second and third channels extend axially through the sensor base, and the frit is disposed between the sensor cap and the sensor base. 11. The sensor of claim 1, wherein the sensor housing is color-coded to signify a selected analyte for detection in a sample. 12. The sensor of claim 1, wherein the sensor housing is color-coded to signify a selected analyte for detection in a calibration sample. 13. A sensor for use with a cuvette, the cuvette insertable into a sensing chamber and the cuvette having an interior and an exterior, the sensor comprising: a porous substrate having an analysis chemistry reagent; anda sensor housing comprising: a sensor cap comprising a first channel and a first interlocking region, the first channel having a first diameter at the first interlocking region; anda sensor base comprising: a second channel in fluid communication with the first channel, the second channel having a second diameter greater than the first diameter;a third channel coupled to the second channel to form a lower rim in the second channel, the third channel in fluid communication with the first channel and the second channel, the third channel having a third diameter smaller than both the first diameter and the second diameter;a second interlocking region to couple to the first interlocking region, and to hold the porous substrate in the second channel and over the third channel and further between a lower surface of the sensor cap at the first interlocking region and the lower rim of the second channel of the sensor base in fluid communication with the first and third channels;a nozzle, in fluid connection with the third channel and insertable into the interior of the cuvette to direct liquid flow into the interior of the cuvette;an inner housing wall coupled to and spaced apart from the nozzle, the inner housing wall to fit within an upper portion of the interior of the cuvette; andan outer housing wall coupled to and spaced apart from the inner housing wall, the outer housing wall to fit over and around an upper portion of the exterior of the cuvette;wherein the porous substrate has a fourth diameter smaller than the second diameter, greater than the first diameter and greater than the third diameter, and wherein the first diameter of the first channel at the first interlocking region is substantially at least about 1.5 times the third diameter of the third channel at the lower rim of the second channel and the second diameter of the second channel is substantially at least about 2.0 times the third diameter of the third channel at the lower rim of the second channel. 14. The sensor of claim 13, wherein the first interlocking region is a receptive interlocking region and the second interlocking region is an insertive interlocking region. 15. The sensor of claim 13, wherein the analysis chemistry reagent comprises a nucleic acid enzyme and a fluorophore. 16. The sensor of claim 13, wherein each sensor housing is color-coded, a first color-coding to signify a first selected analyte for detection in a first field sample, and a second color-coding to signify a second selected analyte for detection in a second field sample. 17.
