Preferably, the respective side rails will have a raised ridge so that magnets on the respective sides of the cover can abut against this raised ridge to prevent the magnets from sliding off of the side rail. Various embodiments further include an end plate having two spring biased locking members and a draw cord interconnecting the two locking members; wherein the draw cord includes a pull loop which can be drawn away from the end plate to draw the respective locking members away from respective the side rails so that the end plate can be disengaged from the respective side rails.

A tonneau cover assembly for securing over a cargo box of a pickup truck; the tonneau cover assembly including: two side rails for securing to the cargo box; wherein the two side rails each include a receiving surface and a ferromagnetic material located on the receiving surface; anda cover having two longitudinal sides and two ends; the cover further including a plurality of magnets each of which is separately secured to one of the two longitudinal sides; wherein each of the plurality of magnets can removably secure one of the respective sides of the cover to ferromagnetic material of one of the respective side rails; wherein each side rail includes a channel having a lower edge and a top edge, the top edge including a ridge; wherein the cover rests upon the ridge when the cover is secured to the respective side rail and the respective magnets can abut against the respective ridge to prevent the respective magnets from sliding off of the ferromagnetic material when the cover is secured to the respective side rail so that the respective ridge can resist disengagement of the respective magnets from the receiving surface. 2. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 1, further comprising a cover securing plate connected to one end of the cover. 3. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 1, wherein each magnet includes an aperture and each magnet is secured to the cover with a cap, wherein the cap includes a head that is secured to a distal portion that includes with a connecting portion, wherein the connecting portion passes through one of a plurality of openings in each of the respective sides of the cover and through the aperture, wherein the head is larger than the respective openings and the distal portion has a greater diameter than the connecting portion so that the magnet is secured to the respective side of the cover. 4. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 1, wherein the receiving surface is made of a ferromagnetic material. 5. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 1, wherein the magnet is secured within a plastic enclosure and the plastic enclosure is secured to the respective side of the cover; wherein the plastic enclosure is secured to the respective side by a method of securing selected from the group consisting of adhesive sealing, radio frequency welding, heat sealing and sewing. 6. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 1, wherein the respective sides of the cover include hook fastener and the respective receiving surfaces of the side rails include intermittently spaced strips of loop fastener. 7. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 1, wherein the cover is flexible. 8. A tonneau cover assembly for securing over a cargo box of a pickup truck; the tonneau cover assembly including: two side rails for securing to the cargo box; wherein the two side rails each include a receiving surface; wherein the receiving surface includes a ferromagnetic material and a plurality of first components of hook and loop fastener located on the receiving surface; wherein the first components of hook and loop fastener are intermittently spaced apart on the receiving surface; anda cover having two longitudinal sides and two ends; the cover further including a plurality of magnets and a second component of hook and loop fastener secured on each of the two sides; wherein each of the plurality of magnets and the second component of hook and loop fastener removably secure the cover to ferromagnetic material of each of the side rails; wherein each side rail includes a channel having a lower edge and a top edge, the top edge including a ridge; wherein the respective magnets can be secured against the respective ridges so that the respective ridges will resist movement of the respective sides of the cover in the direction of a center of the cargo box; wherein the magnets are intermittently spaced apart on the respective longitudinal sides of the cover. 9. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 8, wherein the cover is flexible. 10. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 8, further comprising a cover securing plate secured to one end of the cover. 11. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 8, wherein each respective first component of hook and loop fastener is a continuous strip positioned along the respective longitudinal side of the cover, wherein each magnet is secured to the first component of hook and loop fastener. 12. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 8, wherein the receiving surface is made of a ferromagnetic material. 13. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 8, wherein the magnet is secured within a plastic enclosure and the plastic enclosure is secured to the respective side of the cover; wherein the plastic enclosure is secured to the respective side by a method of securing selected from the group consisting of adhesive sealing, RF welding, heat sealing and sewing. 14. A tonneau cover assembly for securing over a cargo box of a pickup truck; the tonneau cover assembly including: two side rails for securing to the cargo box; wherein the two side rails each include a receiving surface and a ferromagnetic material located on the receiving surface; anda cover having two sides and two ends; the cover further including a plurality of magnets secured on each of the two sides; wherein each magnet includes an aperture and each magnet is secured to the cover with a cap inserted through the aperture; wherein the plurality of magnets removably secure the cover to ferromagnetic material of the side rails. 15. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 14, wherein the cover is flexible. 16. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 14, further comprising a cover securing plate secured to one end of the cover. 17. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 14, wherein each side rail includes a top edge and a retaining portion on the top edge; wherein the magnet is secured proximate the retaining portion. 18. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 14, wherein the cap includes a head, a base and a connecting portion interconnecting the head and the base; wherein the base can be compressed to secure the magnet to the cover. 19. A tonneau cover assembly for securing over a cargo box of a pickup truck; the tonneau cover assembly including: two side rails for securing to the cargo box; wherein each of the two side rails include a receiving surface and a ferromagnetic material located on the receiving surface; anda cover having two sides and two ends; wherein each of the respective sides of the cover further including a plurality of connector assemblies each including a magnet and a plastic enclosure; wherein each side rail includes a channel having a lower edge and a top edge, the top edge including a ridge; wherein the cover rests upon the ridge when the cover is secured to the respective side rail; wherein each connector assembly is secured to one of the two sides of the cover; and wherein the plurality of connector assemblies removably secure the cover to ferromagnetic material of the side rails. 20. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 19, wherein the cover is flexible. 21. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 19, wherein the plastic enclosure completely encloses the magnet. 22. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 19, wherein each side rail includes a top edge and a retaining portion on the top edge; wherein the magnet is secured under the top edge. 23. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 19, further comprising a cover securing plate secured to one end of the cover. 24. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 19, wherein the receiving surface is made of a ferromagnetic material. 25. A tonneau cover assembly for securing over a cargo box of a pickup truck; the tonneau cover assembly including: two side rails for securing to the cargo box; wherein the two side rails each have a receiving surface having at least one section of ferromagnetic material and at least one section of a first component of hook and loop fastener; anda cover having two sides and two ends; the cover further including a plurality of connector assemblies each including a magnet and a plastic enclosure; the cover further including a second component of hook and loop fastener; wherein the plurality of magnets are secured to the second component of hook and loop fastener; wherein each connector assembly is secured to one of the two sides of the cover; wherein the plurality of magnets and the first and second components of hook and loop fasteners removably secure the cover to the side rails. 26. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 25, wherein the cover is flexible. 27. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 25, wherein the first component of hook and loop fastener is hook fastener. 28. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 25, wherein there are a plurality of ferromagnetic material sections and a plurality of first component of hook and loop fastener sections. 29. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 25, wherein the sections of ferromagnetic material and first component of hook and loop fasteners alternate in series along a length of the side rail. 30. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 32, wherein each magnet includes an aperture and each magnet is secured to the cover with a cap, wherein the cap includes a head that is secured to a distal portion with a connecting portion, wherein the connecting portion passes through one of a plurality of openings in each of the respective sides of the cover and through the aperture, wherein the head is larger than the respective openings and the distal portion has a greater diameter than the connecting portion so that the magnet is secured to the respective side of the cover. 34. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 32, wherein the receiving surface is made of a ferromagnetic material. 35. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 32, wherein the magnet is secured within a plastic enclosure and the plastic enclosure is secured to the respective side of the cover; wherein the plastic enclosure is secured to the respective side by a method of securing selected from the group consisting of adhesive sealing, radio frequency welding, heat sealing and sewing. 36. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 32, wherein the respective sides of the cover include hook fastener and the respective receiving surfaces of the side rails include intermittently spaced strips of loop fastener. 37. The tonneau cover assembly of claim 32, wherein the cover is flexible.
