An insulated enclosure includes a plurality of walls, each of the walls comprising structural insulated panels joined to adjoining structural insulated panels by joints. Each of the structural insulated panels includes a frame having a first vertical frame member, a second vertical frame member, a top frame member, a bottom frame member, and siding members disposed on opposing sides of the frame to define a cavity therebetween. The vertical frame members define, on an outwardly disposed surface thereof, a plurality of vertical recesses and projections. The joints between the plurality of structural insulated panels are butyl-free and include butyl-free compressible seals disposed between opposing recesses and projections in adjoining structural insulated panels. Insulation is disposed within the structural insulated panels and within at least a portion of at least one structural insulated panel vertical frame member.

1. A structural insulated panel system, comprising: a frame including a first vertical frame member and a second vertical frame member and a top frame member and a bottom frame member;a first siding member attached to at least a portion of one side of the frame and a second siding member attached to at least a portion of an opposite side of the frame, the frame and the first and second siding members forming a cavity;an insulation material within the cavity;the first vertical frame member having a plurality of recesses having a first depth; the second vertical frame member having a plurality of projections having a second depth;a first compressible seal disposed within the recesses and configured to be compressed by the projections of an adjacent panel upon assembly of two panels to one another;a second compressible seal disposed adjacent to each outside edge of the first or second vertical frame member and configured to be compressed by the other of the first or second vertical frame member upon assembly of two panels to one another;a plurality of voids formed in at least one of the frame members and filled with the insulation fill material. 2. An insulated enclosure comprising: a plurality of walls, each of the plurality of walls comprising a plurality of pre-fabricated structural insulated panels joined at joints, each of the plurality of pre-fabricated structural insulated panels comprising a frame having a first vertical frame member defining on an outwardly disposed surface thereof a plurality of vertical recesses and a plurality of vertical projections, a second vertical frame member defining on an outwardly disposed surface thereof a plurality of vertical recesses and a plurality of vertical projections, a top frame member, a bottom frame member, and siding members disposed on opposing sides of the frame to define a cavity therebetween;wherein the joints joining the plurality of structural insulated panels are butyl-free and comprise butyl-free compressible seals disposed between opposing recesses and projections in adjoining structural insulated panels, andwherein insulation is disposed both within the structural insulated panels and within at least a portion of at least one structural insulated panel vertical frame member. 3. The insulated enclosure of claim 2, wherein the plurality of recesses in the vertical frame members of the plurality of pre-fabricated structural insulated panels comprise two recesses having a substantially rectangular shape extending a length of the vertical frame members. 4. The insulated enclosure of claim 3, wherein the compressible seals disposed in the joints between opposing recesses and projections of adjoining pre-fabricated structural insulated panels comprise hollow core seals. 5. The insulated enclosure of claim 4, wherein the hollow core seals each comprise a plurality of hollow core seals connected by a bridge section and spaced apart from one another so as not to touch one another under compression. 6. The insulated enclosure of claim 2, wherein a depth of the recesses is greater than a height of the projections by an amount sufficient to compress the compressible seal a predetermined amount. 7. The insulated enclosure of claim 2, wherein the recesses in the vertical frame members have a substantially semi-circular shape. 8. The insulated enclosure of claim 7, wherein the compressible seal comprises a solid core seal. 9. The insulated enclosure of claim 8, wherein the projections comprise ridge-shaped projections. 10. The insulated enclosure of claim 2, wherein the pre-fabricated structural insulated panel vertical frame members comprise a plurality of voids extending longitudinally along the frame members and having an opening facing the cavity. 11. The insulated enclosure of claim 10, wherein the first vertical frame member, the second vertical frame member, the top frame member and the bottom frame member comprise wood. 12. The insulated enclosure of claim 11, wherein the voids are formed in the first vertical frame member and the insulation is disposed both within the voids. 13. The insulated enclosure of claim 12, wherein the voids are formed in the second vertical frame member and the insulation is disposed both within the voids. 14. The insulated enclosure of claim 13, wherein the voids are formed in the top frame member and the insulation is disposed both within the voids. 15. The insulated enclosure of claim 13, wherein the voids are formed in the bottom frame member and the insulation is disposed both within the voids. 16. The insulated enclosure of claim 2, wherein the insulated enclosure is a walk-in cooler. 17. The structural insulated enclosure of claim 2, wherein the insulated enclosure is a refrigerated storage area. 18. The structural insulated panel system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of recesses of the first vertical frame member have substantially equal depths, andwherein the plurality of projections of the second vertical frame member have substantially equal depths. 19. A method of assembling a plurality of pre-fabricated structural insulated panels comprising: providing a plurality of pre-fabricated structural insulated panels, each of the pre-fabricated structural insulated panels comprising a frame having a first vertical frame member defining on an outwardly disposed surface thereof a first labyrinth seal comprising a plurality of recesses and projections, a second vertical frame member defining on an outwardly disposed surface thereof a second labyrinth seal, comprising plurality of recesses and projections, dimensioned to matingly engage the recesses and projections of the first labyrinth seal of the first vertical frame member, a top frame member, a bottom frame member, and siding members disposed on opposing sides of the frame to define a cavity therebetween, the cavity having insulation disposed therein, with at least one of the first vertical frame member or the second vertical frame member comprising insulation disposed therein, and with compressible seals disposed with a plurality of the recesses in at least one of the first vertical frame member or the second vertical frame member; andassembling the first pre-fabricated structural insulated panel and a second pre-fabricated structural insulated panel without field application of a sealant by aligning a first pre-fabricated structural insulated panel and a second pre-fabricated structural insulated panel along the vertical frame members such that the first vertical frame member of the first pre-fabricated structural insulated panel is adjacent to and aligned with the second vertical frame member of the second pre-fabricated structural insulated panel and by biasing the first vertical frame member of the first pre-fabricated structural insulated panel into engagement with the second vertical frame member of the second pre-fabricated structural insulated panel sufficient to at least partially compress the compressible seals. 20.
