The present invention relates to a container (1) having a hollow shell defining a body with a dispensing aperture, and a bag (4) within the shell (2), the open end of the bag extending through the dispensing aperture and being secured with respect to the outside of the shell. The bag (4) is made from a material suitable for containing the intended contents of the container (1). Therefore the shell (2) may be formed from a material that would not be suitable for containing the intended contents of the container alone. The shell (2) may be formed from a biodegradable material, such as wood or paper pulp. The bag (4) may be separated from the main body of the container to allow for separate disposal. The container (1) may be sealed by providing a spout through which the contents of the container are to be dispensed, and by folding the spout over to create a nip which seals the container.

1. A container comprising a hollow shell, the hollow shell defining a container body of the container, the container including a dispensing aperture, and a bag or liner provided within the hollow shell, and being secured to the hollow shell at least about the dispensing aperture, the hollow shell formed from a recycled pulp and/or biodegradable pulp material and having an internal volume, the bag or liner having a portion provided within the hollow shell that has a maximum internal volume greater than the internal volume of the hollow shell such that a load of the bag or liner when filled is carried by the hollow shell, and wherein the hollow shell is formed as an open shell which is then folded to form the hollow shell or is formed from a number of separate parts which are joined together to form the hollow shell; and wherein the hollow shell is arranged to be folded over to seal a dispensing aperture of the container, the dispensing aperture being defined within a neck of the container, a fold being foldable over the neck, the container further comprising:an adhesive tape, the adhesive tape being attached to an end of the neck. 2. A container according to claim 1, in which the pulp material is selected from the group of wood pulp and paper pulp. 3. A container according to claim 2, in which the hollow shell is formed by vacuum forming the wood pulp or paper pulp. 4. The container of claim 1, wherein the bag or liner is secured with respect to an outside of the hollow shell by attaching the bag or liner to the hollow shell at least around the dispensing aperture. 5. A container according to claim 1, in which the bag or liner is provided loosely within the hollow shell. 6. A container according to claim 1, in which the bag or liner is connected to an interior surface of the hollow shell at discrete positions. 7. A container according to claim 1, in which the bag or liner is formed of a biodegradable material. 8. A container to claim 1, in which the hollow shell has a moisture resistant covering on an outer surface. 9. A container according to claim 1, in which the hollow shell includes an accelerator that helps promote degradation of the hollow shell after use. 10. A container according to claim 1, in which the hollow shell includes one or more flanges that are joined together to join one or more parts of the hollow shell. 11. A container according to claim 10, in which a flange of the one or more flanges includes an opening to define a handle portion for holding the container. 12. A container according to claim 1, in which the connection between the bag or liner and the outer surface of the hollow shell is rupturable so that the bag or liner can be separated from the outer surface of the hollow shell and removed from the interior of the hollow shell. 13. A container according to claim 4, in which the bag or liner is attached by an adhesive, by tape, or by shrink wrapping. 14. The container according to claim 4, wherein a connection between the bag or liner and the outside of the hollow shell is rupturable so that the bag or liner can be separated from the outside of the shell and removed from the shell. 15. The container of claim 6, wherein the bag or liner includes rupturable portions around position where the bag or liner is connected to the interior surfaces of the hollow shell. 16. The container of claim 1, wherein the adhesive tape is attachable to a lower portion of the neck for forming the fold over the neck to seal the dispensing aperture. 17. The container of claim 16, wherein the adhesive tape is configured to act as a tamper evident seal for indicating whether the tape has been removed or ruptured to show when the container has been opened.
