A kinetic energy recovery system (“KERS system”) and motorcycle equipped with the same is disclosed. The KERS system may be mechanical, hydraulic, or a combination thereof. In an embodiment, motorcycle includes a rear wheel, an electric motor, a motor shaft, and a front wheel equipped with a wheel hub that includes a sprag clutch. The motor shaft can be fitted with a motor drive sprocket that drives a jackshaft chain that in turn drives a jackshaft input sprocket that is fitted to the jackshaft. Jackshaft input sprocket may be installed in conjunction with a sprag clutch that allows the rear wheel to free wheel during coasting while the front wheel KERS system is engaged. The motor harvests kinetic energy from the front wheel without simultaneously powering the rear wheel while the use of a geared dead zone allows the front and rear wheels to not lock together to improve safety.

1. A vehicle powered at least partially by at least one electric motor comprising: an electrical accumulator to store and provide electricity to the at least one electric motor;a front wheel and at least one rear wheel; anda hydraulic kinetic energy recovery system (“hydraulic KERS”) capable of transmitting energy from said front wheel to an electricity generating device located separately from said front wheel comprising at least one conduit between the front wheel and the electricity generating device; whereby said electricity generating device is connected to said electrical accumulator such that electricity can be transmitted from said electricity generating device to said electrical accumulator during vehicle operation. 2. The vehicle of claim 1, further comprising: a first hydraulic pump driven by the front wheel to generate hydraulic pressure. 3. The vehicle of claim 2, wherein the first hydraulic pump comprises a gerotor. 4. The vehicle of claim 3, wherein the first hydraulic pump is operatively connected to the front wheel. 5. The vehicle of claim 2, the at least one conduit comprising: a tubing to convey the hydraulic pressure to a second hydraulic pump connected to the electricity generating device. 6. The vehicle of claim 5, wherein the first hydraulic pump is configured as a hydraulic pump and motor. 7. The vehicle of claim 5, wherein the second hydraulic pump is configured as a hydraulic pump and motor. 8. The vehicle of claim 5, wherein the second hydraulic pump is configured to convert the hydraulic pressure transferred from the first hydraulic pump into a load applied to the electricity generating device by using the hydraulic pressure to rotate the electricity generating device. 9. The vehicle of claim 5, wherein the front wheel is configured to operatively engage and turn a front wheel shaft that is connected to the first hydraulic pump, to thereby cause fluid to be pressured toward the second hydraulic pump. 10. The vehicle of claim 5, wherein, when the hydraulic pressure from the first hydraulic pump is received by the second hydraulic pump via the tubing, a gerotor is configured to apply a load to the electricity generating device. 11. The vehicle of claim 5, wherein the first hydraulic pump and the second hydraulic pump are each configured to receive and transfer power. 12. The vehicle of claim 11, wherein the second hydraulic pump is configured to transfer power via hydraulic tubing to the first hydraulic pump to drive the front wheel. 13. The vehicle of claim 5, further comprising: a valve configured to connect the tubing between the first hydraulic pump and the second hydraulic pump to allow fluid to travel from the first hydraulic pump to the second hydraulic pump. 14. The vehicle of claim 13, wherein the valve is further configured to disconnect the tubing between the first hydraulic pump and the second hydraulic pump, thereby isolating the second hydraulic pump. 15. The vehicle of claim 14, wherein the valve is a 2-position valve. 16. The vehicle of claim 13, wherein the fluid includes hydraulic fluid. 17. The vehicle of claim 13, wherein the fluid includes oil. 18. The vehicle of claim 13, wherein the fluid includes a gas. 19. The vehicle of claim 1, wherein the electricity generating device comprises the electric motor. 20. A method of regenerating energy in an electrical accumulator comprising: transferring energy from a front wheel of a two-wheel or three-wheel vehicle to an electricity generating device located separately from said front wheel using a hydraulic kinetic energy recovery system (“hydraulic KERS”) operatively connected to the front wheel by way of a first hydraulic pump; andgenerating electricity by applying a load to said electricity generating device using the transferred energy. 21. The method of claim 20, further comprising: generating hydraulic pressure by the first hydraulic pump driven by the front wheel. 22. The method of claim 21, wherein the hydraulic pump is a gerotor. 23. The method of claim 22, further comprising: conveying the hydraulic pressure via a tubing to a second hydraulic pump connected to a motor shaft of an electric motor. 24. The method of claim 23, wherein the second hydraulic pump is configured as a hydraulic pump and motor. 25. The method of claim 23, wherein the electricity generating device comprises an electric motor. 26. The method of claim 25, wherein the transferred energy hydraulically applies a load to a shaft of the electric motor.
