The system of claim 1, wherein the wearable appliance is a watch that displays data or application icon on the touch screen. 7. The system of claim 1, wherein the wearable appliance determines user health or fitness from information received from the accelerometer and the vital sign sensor. 8. The system of claim 1, wherein the wearable appliance is a watch that displays notifications from the wireless device on the touch screen. 9. The system of claim 1, comprising a remote computer coupled to the wireless device to provide information to an authorized remote user. 10. The system of claim 1, wherein the message comprises one of: text message, caller identification, email message, weather, calendar reminder. 11. A system, comprising: a telephone with an accelerometer, a microphone for voice recognition and a software application to monitor user fitness; anda wearable appliance with a display, a microphone for capturing voice commands, an accelerometer, and one or more fitness sensors, the wearable appliance, configured to be worn in proximity with a user's skin and in communication with the telephone to display notifications from the telephone to the user, the wearable appliance controlling the telephone by voice commands or by entering data to the telephone using voice recognition. 12. The system of claim 11, wherein the fitness sensor comprises one of: EKG detector, ECG detector, electromagnetic detector, ultrasonic detector, optical detector. 13. The system of claim 11, wherein the wearable appliance further comprises assistive software that understands voice commands directed at the wearable appliance. 14. The system of claim 11, wherein the wearable appliance includes a positioning system receiving wireless signals or data transmitted from an 802.X station to provide location information. 15. The system of claim 11, wherein the wearable appliance includes a vital sign sensors. 16. A system, comprising: a cellular telephone including an accelerometer and a health application; and a wearable device including an accelerometer, a touch screen, a voice capture unit, and a heart rate sensor wherein the wearable device is configured to be worn on or above a user's skin, further wherein the wearable device is in wireless communication with the cellular telephone to transmit data to the cellular telephone and to display notifications from the cellular telephone. 17. The system of claim 16, wherein the wearable device controls a play list; displays an image to select music, video or application; or renders an audiovisual data stream. 18. The system of claim 16, wherein the notification comprises one of: text message, caller identification, email message, weather, calendar reminder. 19. The system of claim 16, wherein the wearable device displays one or more application icons on the touch screen. 20. The system of claim 16, wherein the wearable device includes an application to collect information generated by the accelerometer and heart rate sensor, and wherein the application generates, using at least the information generated by the accelerometer and heart rate sensor, an analysis of at least one of exercise and sleep, and wherein the wearable device transmits the analysis to the health application on the cellular telephone.
