The rack of claim 1, wherein the support surface of the first side frame and the support surface of the second side frame each define end portions of a truncated plane extending therebetween. 3. The rack of claim 1, wherein the first position is an operational configuration in which an object can be concurrently disposed on the support surface of the first side frame and the support surface of the second side frame. 4. The rack of claim 3, wherein the object is a baking pan. 5. The rack of claim 1, wherein the first side frame further includes a second support surface extending between the first vertical support member and the second vertical support member, and wherein the second side frame further includes a second support surface extending between the first vertical support member and the second vertical support member. 6. The rack of claim 1, wherein the rack further includes caster wheels on a bottom edge of the first and second vertical support members. 7. The rack of claim 1, wherein the first hinge sub-assembly comprises a third linkage member and a fourth linkage member pivotably coupled together. 8. The rack of claim 7, wherein the third linkage member defines a slot through which the fourth linkage member passes. 9. The rack of claim 7, wherein one of the third linkage member and the fourth linkage member is operatively coupled to a sliding member secured to the second vertical support member of the first side frame. 10. The rack of claim 1, further including a lateral member extending between the first vertical support member and the second vertical support member of the first side frame, and wherein one of the first linkage member and the second linkage member is operatively coupled to a sliding member secured to the lateral member. 11. The rack of claim 1, wherein the first hinge sub-assembly comprises a third linkage member slidably coupled to the second vertical support member of the first side frame and a fourth linkage member slidably coupled to the second vertical support member of the second side frame, the third and fourth linkage members being pivotably coupled together and the third linkage member defines a slot through which the fourth linkage member passes. 12. The rack of claim 1, wherein the first side frame comprises a lateral member extending between the first and second vertical support members, the second side frame comprises a lateral member extending between the first and second vertical support members, and the first linkage member is slidably coupled to the lateral member of the first side frame and the second linkage member is slidably coupled to the lateral member of the second side frame. 13. The rack of claim 1, wherein the first and second linkages are slidably coupled to each other. 14. The rack of claim 1, wherein the first hinge sub-assembly comprises a third linkage member slidably coupled to the second vertical support member of the first side frame and a fourth linkage member slidably coupled to the second vertical support member of the second side frame, the third and fourth linkage members being pivotably coupled together and one of the third linkage member and the fourth linkage member defines a slot through which the other of the third and fourth linkage member passes, andthe first side frame comprises a lateral member extending between the first and second vertical support members, the second side frame comprises a lateral member extending between the first and second vertical support members, andthe first linkage member is slidably coupled to the lateral member of the first side frame and the second linkage member is slidably coupled to the lateral member of the second side frame, andthe first and second linkage members are slidably coupled to each other. 15. A support rack for holding a plurality of pans, the rack comprising: a first side frame including a first vertical support member anda second vertical support member;a second side frame including a first vertical support member anda second vertical support member;a hinge assembly coupling the first and second side frames, wherein the hinge assembly comprises a first hinge that pivots in a first plane and that is operatively coupled to the first and second side frames during pivoting of the first and second side frames relative to each other and a second hinge that pivots in a second plane that is orthogonal to the first plane and that is operatively coupled to the first and second side frames during pivoting of the first and second side frames relative to each other, wherein the hinge assembly is operable to position the rack in a first position in which the first side frame and the second side frame are parallel and spaced a predetermined distance apart, a second position in which the first side frame and the second side frame are nonparallel, and a third position in which the first side frame and the second side frame are parallel but closer in proximity than the predetermined distance; anda lateral member extending between the first vertical support member and the second vertical support member of the first side frame, and wherein one of the first hinge and the second hinge is operatively coupled to a sliding member secured to the lateral member. 16. The rack of claim 15, wherein the first hinge comprises a first linkage member and a second linkage member pivotably coupled and the second hinge comprises a first linkage member and a second linkage member pivotably coupled. 17. The rack of claim 15, wherein the first plane is parallel to a plane defined by the second vertical support members of the first and second side frames. 18. The rack of claim 15, wherein the first hinge comprises a first linkage member and a second linkage member, wherein the first linkage member defines a slot through which the second linkage member passes. 19. The rack of claim 15 wherein the first hinge comprises a first linkage member slidably coupled to the second vertical support of the first side frame and a second linkage member slidably coupled to the second vertical support of the second side frame. 20. The rack of claim 15, wherein the second hinge comprises a first linkage member pivotably coupled to the first side frame and a second linkage member pivotably coupled to the second side frame, and the first and second linkage members are pivotably and slidably coupled to each other.
