Modular floor tiles and modular floors are described herein. A modular floor tile may include a top surface layer, a plurality of edge surfaces, an interlocking mechanism for attachment to adjacent tiles, and a support system. The support system may additionally include a first rigid level and at least one resilient support member disposed under the top surface layer, the at least one resilient support member extending to a distance further from the top surface layer than the first rigid level. The at least one resilient support member may be compressible toward the top surface layer. A modular floor may include a plurality of interlocking tiles connected to one another. A method of forming a modular floor that includes an interlocking modular tile is also disclosed.

1. A floor tile system, comprising: a floor surface comprising a plurality of tiles, each of the plurality of tiles comprising: an upward facing surface;a plurality of first rigid supports extending downward relative to the upward facing surface and defining a downward facing support surface for the tile;a plurality of resilient support members inserted between the plurality of first rigid supports and extending downward from the upward facing surface, the plurality of resilient support members being disposed entirely below the upward facing surface and extending below the downward facing support surface when in an uncompressed state;wherein the plurality of resilient support members are compressible against a support surface upon which the floor tile system rests to cushion the floor surface during use. 2. The floor tile system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of first rigid supports extend in a direction opposite the upward facing surface. 3. The floor tile system of claim 1, wherein the upward facing surface and the plurality of first rigid supports are formed integrally as a single piece. 4. The floor tile system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of resilient support members are releasably connected to the plurality of first rigid supports with an interference fit connection. 5. The floor tile system of claim 4, wherein the plurality of resilient support members are detachable from the plurality of first rigid supports. 6. The floor tile system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of resilient support members each comprises an elongate portion. 7. The floor tile system of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of second rigid supports extending downward a distance less than the plurality of first rigid supports. 8. The floor tile system of claim 1, wherein the upward facing surface comprises an open surface having a plurality of openings formed therein. 9. A floor tile assembly for providing impact absorption, the floor tile assembly comprising: a rigid tile member, comprising: a top surface;an underside opposite the top surface;a plurality of substantially rigid support members extending downward from the underside to a first length;a plurality of flexible supports inserted between the plurality of substantially rigid support members, the plurality of flexible supports contacting the underside of the rigid tile member, the plurality of flexible supports having an uncompressed length greater than the first length and a compressed length less than or equal to the first length. 10. A method of providing multiple levels of support by a floor tile, the method comprising: providing a floor tile on a support surface, the floor tile comprising a bottom surface and a plurality of rigid support members extending toward the support surface from the bottom surface, the floor tile comprising a plurality of elastomeric supports inserted between the rigid support members and extending toward the support surface from the bottom surface;applying a first force to the plurality of elastomeric supports using the floor tile, the first force compressing the plurality of elastomeric supports between the bottom surface and the support surface to a first height;applying a second force to the plurality of elastomeric supports using the floor tile, the second force compressing the plurality of elastomeric supports between the bottom surface and the support surface to a second height;wherein at the first height, the rigid support members are not in contact with the support surface;wherein at the second height, the rigid support members are in contact with the support surface. 11. The floor tile assembly of claim 9, wherein the plurality of first rigid supports extend in a direction opposite the upward facing surface. 12. The floor tile assembly of claim 9, wherein the upward facing surface and the plurality of first rigid supports are formed integrally as a single piece. 13. The floor tile assembly of claim 9, wherein the plurality of resilient support members are mounted to the plurality of first rigid supports with an interference fit connection. 14. The floor tile assembly of claim 13, wherein the plurality of resilient support members are detachable from the plurality of first rigid supports. 15. The floor tile assembly of claim 9, wherein the plurality of resilient support members each comprises an elongate portion. 16. The floor tile assembly of claim 9, further comprising a plurality of second rigid supports extending downward a distance less than the plurality of first rigid supports. 17. The floor tile assembly of claim 9, wherein the upward facing surface comprises an open surface having a plurality of openings formed therein. 18. The floor tile assembly of claim 9, wherein at least some of the plurality of resilient support members comprise a hollow portion. 19. The method of claim 10, wherein the plurality of elastomeric supports are detachable from the floor tile. 20. The method of claim 10, wherein compressing the plurality of elastomeric supports includes compressing axially along a length of each of the plurality of elastomeric supports.
