A tilt roll table for use with uranium hexafluoride cylindrical containers securely holds the container, supported from its domed ends by spindles mounted to brackets as the container is tilted and rolled. The spindles have greater surface area over which to distribute the weight and are shaped to complement the domed container ends. The brackets supporting the spindles, stiffened by vertical and horizontal braces, can be adjusted vertically and moved axially toward and away from the domed ends of the containers by a gear drive to accommodate different sizes of cylindrical containers. In addition, bands encircle the containers to hold them onto the frame during tilting and rolling.

A tilt roll table for use in tilting and rolling a UF6 cylindrical container, said apparatus comprising: (a) a base;(b) a frame carried by said base and adapted to hold a cylindrical container, said frame having a first end and a spaced-apart, opposing second end, said frame being pivotally secured to said base so that said frame can be pivoted between a first-end-higher position and a second-end-higher position, said frame pivoting about a pivotal axis, said frame carrying plural rollers oriented to rotate about an axis perpendicular to said pivotal axis;(c) a pinion gear operatively connected to said frame for pivoting said frame about said pivotal axis;(d) a drive roller operatively connected to said frame for rotating at least one roller of said plural rollers when said cylindrical container is on said frame, said drive roller rotating said cylindrical container about an axis perpendicular to said pivotal axis;(e) a first bracket carried by said first end of said frame and an opposing second bracket carried by said second end of said frame, wherein said first bracket is movably attached to said frame so that said first bracket is movable toward and away from said second bracket, said first bracket carrying a first spindle and said second bracket carrying a second spindle;(f) a motor; and(g) an output shaft driven by said motor, with said first bracket being carried by said output shaft toward said second bracket;wherein, when said cylindrical container is on said frame with a first end of said cylindrical container oriented towards said first spindle and a second end of said cylindrical container oriented toward said second spindle, said first and second spindles engage said first and second ends, respectively, to support said cylinder when said cylinder is rotated by said drive roller and tilted by said pinion gear. 2. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 1, wherein said second bracket is movable toward and away from said first bracket. 3. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 1, wherein said spindle on said first bracket and said spindle on said second bracket are vertically adjustable. 4. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 1, further comprising adjustable bands carried by said frame, said bands encircling said cylindrical container when said cylindrical container is on said frame. 5. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 1, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket are braced for strength. 6. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 5, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket have vertical braces and horizontal braces. 7. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 6, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket have three vertical braces. 8. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 6, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket have two horizontal braces. 9. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 1, wherein said first and second ends of said cylindrical container are domed and wherein said spindles are concave to correspond to domed first and second ends of said UF6 cylindrical containers. 10. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 1, wherein said cylindrical container has a valve on at least one end of said first and second ends, said valve being off center, and wherein said spindles are dimensioned so as not to interfere with said valve. 11. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 1, further comprising: (a) an input shaft driven by said motor, and(b) a gear box connected to said input shaft and said output shaft. 12. A tilt roll table for use in tilting and rolling a UF6 cylindrical container, said apparatus comprising: (a) a base;(b) a frame carried by said base and adapted to hold a cylindrical container having a domed first end and a domed second end, said frame having a first end and a spaced-apart, opposing second end, said frame being pivotally secured to said base so that said frame pivot between a first-end-higher position and a second-end-higher position about a pivotal axis, said frame carrying plural rollers oriented to rotate about an axis perpendicular to said pivotal axis;(c) a pinion gear operatively connected to said frame for pivoting said frame about said pivotal axis;(d) a drive roller of said plural rollers so that, when said cylindrical container is on said frame, said drive roller rotates said cylindrical container about an axis perpendicular to sais pivotal axis;(e) a first bracket carried by said first end of said frame and an opposing second bracket carried by said second end of said frame, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket are movably attached to said frame so that said first bracket and said second bracket are movable toward each other, said first bracket carrying a first spindle and said second bracket carrying a second spindle, said first and second spindles being concave so as to fit against said first and second domed ends of a cylindrical container;(f) a motor; and(g) an output shaft driven by said motor, said first and second brackets being moved together and apart by said output shaft;wherein, when said cylindrical container is on said frame with a first end of said cylindrical container oriented towards said first spindle and a second end of said cylindrical container oriented toward said second spindle, said first and second spindles are in complementary engagement with said first and second ends, respectively, to support said cylinder when said cylinder is rotated by said drive roller and tilted by said pinion gear. 13. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 12, wherein said base is made of steel or reinforced concrete. 14. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 12, further comprising: (a) an input shaft driven by said motor, and(b) a gear box connected to said input shaft and said output shaft. 15. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 12, wherein said cylindrical container has a valve on at least one end of said first and second ends, said valve being off center, and wherein said spindles are dimensioned so as not to interfere with said valve. 16. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 12, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket are braced for strength. 17. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 16, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket have vertical braces and horizontal braces. 18. The tilt roll table as recited in claim 17, wherein said first bracket and said second bracket have three vertical braces and two horizontal braces. 19. A tilt-roll table for simultaneously tilting and rolling a UF6 cylindrical container for cleaning of internal surfaces, said apparatus comprising: (a) a base;(b) a frame carried by said base and adapted to hold a UF6 cylindrical container, said frame having a first end and a spaced-apart, opposing second end, said frame being pivotally secured to said base so that said frame can be pivoted between a first-end-higher position and a second-end-higher position, said frame pivoting about a pivotal axis (A) that is positioned perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis (C) of said cylindrical container, said frame carrying plural rollers oriented to rotate about an axis (B) perpendicular to said pivotal axis (A) while the frame is being pivoted;(c) a pinion gear operatively connected to same frame for pivoting said frame about said pivotal axis (A);(d) a drive roller operatively connected to said frame for rotating at least one roller of said plural rollers when said cylindrical container is on said frame, said drive roller rotating said cylindrical container about its longitudinal axis (C);(e) a first bracket carried by said first end of said frame and an opposing second bracket carried by said second end of said frame, wherein said first bracket is movably attached to said frame so that said first bracket is movable toward and away from said second bracket, said first bracket carrying a first spindle and said second bracket carrying a second spindle, with the first and second spindles are configured to be concave to receive domed ends of the cylindrical container, and wherein, when said cylindrical container is on said frame with a first domed end of said cylindrical container oriented towards said first spindle and a second domed end of said cylindrical container oriented toward said second spindle, said first and second spindles engage said first and second ends, respectively, to contact the domed ends of the cylindrical container in order to support said cylindrical container when said cylindrical container is being rotated by said drive roller and tilted by said pinion gear. 20. The tilt-roll table as recited in claim 19, wherein the spindles are rotatable with respect to their adjacent brackets to rotatably support the ends of said cylindrical container during pivoting and rotating. 21. A system for tilting and rolling a UF6 cylindrical container, said system comprising: a tilt-roll table as recited in claim 19, anda UF6 cylindrical container received by the tilt-roll table, the container having first and second ends that are domed,wherein said spindles of the tilt-roll table are concave to correspond to said domed first and second ends of said cylindrical container,wherein the UF6 cylindrical container has a valve on at least one end thereof, said valve being off center, andwherein said spindles are dimensioned so as not to interfere with said valve during rotation of the UF6 cylindrical container.
