The bicycle transport case of claim 1, further comprising a front channel configured to receive a second head of a second pin extending from a bottom end of the front fork mount, the second head having a width dimension larger than a width dimension of the second pin such that when the second head of the second pin is inserted into the front channel, the front channel engages the second head to maintain the second head in the front channel while still allowing the second pin to move in a longitudinal direction along the base to provide for adjustment of the front fork mount to accommodate different bicycle sizes. 3. The bicycle transport case of claim 2, wherein the front channel is an extension of the rear channel. 4. The bicycle transport case of claim 3, further comprising an additional two wheels, the four wheels mounted adjacent four corners of the base. 5. The bicycle transport case of claim 1, wherein the wheel mount bracket is mounted on an inner side of the second side, the wheel mount bracket shaped so as to raise a portion of the wheel mount bracket away from the inner side of the second side to provide a space between the inner side of the second side and a bottom surface of the wheel mount bracket, the wheel mount bracket also having a slot disposed in the raised portion extending from an upwards facing end of the raised portion for a selected distance, the slot configured to accept a portion of an axle assembly to hold the wheel removed from the bicycle to the second side. 6. The bicycle transport case of claim 5, wherein the axle assembly is a quick release system. 7. The bicycle transport case of claim 1, further comprising two wheels mounted to the base to provide for rolling the base across a surface. 8. A bicycle transport case, comprising: a base having a top surface and a bottom surface;a fork mount mounted to the top surface of the base, the fork mount configured to releasably engage fork drop outs of a bicycle;a rear frame mount mounted to the top surface of the base and configured to releasably engage rear drop outs of a bicycle frame;a first pin having a first head, the first pin extending from the bottom end of the rear frame mount, the first head having a width dimension larger than a width dimension of the first pin such that when the first head of the first pin is inserted into a rear channel formed on the top surface of the base, the rear channel engages the first head to maintain the first head in the rear channel while still allowing the first pin to move in a longitudinal direction along the base;a first side releasably mountable to the base, the first side also having a pair of side panels and a top panel defining a cavity open on one side to partially enclose the bicycle mounted to the base; anda second side releasably mountable to the base, the second side also having a pair of side panels and a top panel defining a cavity open on one side to partially enclose the bicycle, the first and second sides cooperating to completely enclose the bicycle when the bicycle transport case is in a closed condition;a wheel mount bracket mounted on an inner side of the second side, the wheel mount bracket having a raised portion to elevate the wheel mount bracket away from the inner side of the second side to provide a space between the inner side of the second side and a bottom surface of the wheel mount bracket, the wheel mount bracket also having a slot disposed in the raised portion extending from an upwards facing end of the raised portion for a selected distance towards a central portion of the wheel mount bracket, the slot configured to accept a portion of an axle assembly to hold the wheel removed from the bicycle to the second side. 9. The bicycle transport case of claim 8, further comprising a front channel configured to receive a second head of a second pin extending from a bottom end of the front fork mount, the second head having a width dimension larger than a width dimension of the second pin such that when the second head of the second pin is inserted into the front channel, the front channel engages the second head to maintain the second head in the front channel while still allowing the second pin to move in a longitudinal direction along the base to provide for adjustment of the front fork mount to accommodate different bicycle sizes. 10. The bicycle transport case of claim 9, wherein the front channel is an extension of the rear channel. 11. The bicycle transport case of claim 8, wherein the axle assembly is a quick release system. 12. An assembly for releasably mounting a bicycle wheel removed from a bicycle to a bicycle transport case, comprising: a wheel mount bracket configured to be mounted to an inside portion of a bicycle transport case, the wheel mount having a bottom surface and a top surface, and also having an upward facing end and a downward facing end separated by a central portion, the central portion having a first edge portion and a second edge portion, the first and second edge portions of the central portion configured to elevate the bottom surface of the central portion a selected distance above a top surface of the inside portion of the bicycle transport case to form a space between the top surface of the inside portion of the bicycle transport case and the bottom surface of the wheel mount bracket, andthe wheel mount bracket also having a slot disposed in the central portion extending from the upward facing end for a selected distance towards the downward facing end; anda fixture attachable to a bicycle wheel removed from a bicycle, the fixture having a main body sized to fit into the space between the top surface of the inside portion of the bicycle transport case and the bottom surface of the wheel mount bracket, the fixture also having a central portion projecting from the main body, the central portion of the fixture configured to be received in the slot of the wheel mount bracket, the central portion of the fixture extending through a thickness of the wheel mount bracket, the central portion of the fixture also having a bore extending through a thickness of the fixture, the bore configured to engage an axle assembly of the wheel. 13. The assembly of claim 12, wherein the bore of the fixture is threaded. 14. The assembly of claim 13, wherein the bore of the fixture is threaded to receive a threaded end of a quick release skewer. 15. The assembly of claim 14, wherein central portion of the fixture engages the slot of the wheel mount bracket in a locking arrangement.
