Devices and systems are provided that comprise a reaching apparatus removably coupled with a mobility device such that an individual can couple, uncouple, and/or use the reaching apparatus while concurrently using the mobility device for stability and/or mobility assistance. Related devices and systems further comprise a sheath coupled with the mobility device, the sheath configured to slidably receive at least part of the reaching apparatus therein. Furthermore, methods for manufacturing such devices and systems are provided, providing both retrofit options as well as methods for manufacturing specific mobility and/or stability devices comprising the reaching apparatus hereof.

1. A stability system comprising: a mobility device having at least one shaft, the mobility device configured to provide stability to an individual;a reaching apparatus comprising an elongated shaft and configured to grip and release an object; anda sheath coupled with and adjacent to the mobility device, the sheath comprising an elongated body having an open proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen in communication with at least the one open proximal end, the lumen configured to slidably receive at least part of the elongated shaft of the reaching apparatus therein;wherein the reaching apparatus is coupled with the mobility device such that the individual can couple and uncouple the reaching apparatus from the lumen of the sheath while concurrently using the mobility device for stability. 2. The stability system of claim 1, wherein the reaching apparatus is configured such that the individual can use the reaching apparatus to grip an object while concurrently using the mobility device for stability. 3. The stability system of claim 1, wherein the distal end of the sheath comprises an open end. 4. The stability system of claim 1, wherein the proximal end of the sheath comprises a funnel shaped configuration. 5. The stability system of claim 4, wherein: at least a portion of the proximal end of the reaching apparatus comprises a tapered configuration that corresponds with the funnel shaped configuration of the proximal end of the sheath; andwhen the reaching apparatus is slidably received within the lumen of the sheath, the tapered configuration of the reaching apparatus can be securely seated within the funnel shaped proximal end of the sheath. 6. The stability system of claim 1, further comprising one or more couplers, each of the couplers configured to attach the sheath to the mobility device and comprising a first portion adapted to receive a portion of the mobility device therethrough and a second portion adapted to receive a portion of the sheath therethrough. 7. The stability system of claim 6, wherein the first portion of each coupler comprises an enclosed, ring-shaped configuration and wherein the second portion of each coupler comprises an open, C-shaped configuration. 8. The stability system of claim 1, wherein the reaching apparatus further comprises a handle coupled to the elongated shaft, one or more gripping components and a deployment mechanism. 9. The stability system of claim 8, wherein the deployment mechanism of the reaching apparatus comprises an actuator in mechanical communication with the one or more gripping components, the actuator configured to be triggered by depression and wherein depression of the actuator causes the one or more gripping components to move from the first closed position to the second open position. 10. The stability system of claim 8, wherein the elongated shaft of the reaching apparatus is flexible or semi-flexible. 11. The stability system of claim 1, wherein the sheath is integrally formed on a portion of the mobility device. 12. The stability system of claim 1, wherein the mobility device is selected from the group consisting of a cane, crutches, and a walker. 13. A stability assistance device comprising: a reaching apparatus comprising a shaft, one or more gripping components, a handle and a deployment mechanism, the reaching apparatus configured to grip and release an object with the one or more gripping components when the deployment mechanism is triggered;a mobility device comprising at least a leg shaft; anda sheath component nonremovably coupled with and positioned adjacent to the leg shaft of the mobility device via one or more couplers, the sheath comprising an elongated body having an open proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen in communication with at least the one open proximal end, the lumen configured to slidably receive at least part of the shaft and the one or more gripping components of the reaching apparatus therein;wherein the reaching apparatus is further configured for slidable attachment to the mobility device such that the reaching apparatus is securely coupled to the mobility device yet an individual can slidably remove the reaching apparatus from the sheath while the individual is using the mobility device to assist with stability or mobility. 14. The stability assistance device of claim 13, wherein the mobility device is selected from the group consisting of a cane, crutches, and a walker. 15. The stability assistance device of claim 13, wherein the sheath is mounted to an exterior surface of the leg shaft of the mobility device by the one or more couplers. 16. The stability assistance device of claim 15, wherein: each coupler comprises a first portion adapted to couple with the mobility device and a second portion adapted to attach to the elongated body of the sheath; andthe first portion of each coupler is integrally formed on a portion of the exterior surface of the leg shaft of the mobility device. 17. The stability assistance device of claim 13, wherein each coupler comprises a first portion adapted to attach to the mobility device and a second portion adapted to attach to the elongated body of the sheath. 18. The stability assistance device of claim 13, wherein the deployment mechanism of the reaching apparatus comprises an actuator in mechanical communication with the one or more gripping components, the actuator configured to be triggered by depression and wherein depression of the actuator causes the one or more gripping components to move from the first closed position to the second open position. 19. A method for manufacturing a stability assistance device comprising the steps of: providing a mobility device having at least one shaft, the mobility device configured to provide stability to an individual;providing a reaching apparatus configured to grip and release an object;coupling a sheath with the shaft of the mobility device such that the sheath is positioned adjacent to the shaft of the mobility device, the sheath comprising an elongated body having an open proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen in communication with at least one open proximal end, the lumen configured to slidably receive at least a portion of the shaft and the one or more gripping components of the reaching apparatus therein; andslidably coupling the reaching apparatus with the lumen of the sheath such that an individual can couple and uncouple the reaching apparatus from the mobility device while concurrently using the mobility device for stability or mobility. 20. The method of claim 19, wherein the step of coupling a sheath with the shaft of the mobility device comprises nonremovably coupling the sheath with the shaft of the mobility device.
