The roof box system according to claim 3, wherein the interspace has a wedge shape which decreases in height in the driving direction of the motor vehicle. 5. The roof box system according to claim 4, wherein the insertion element includes at least two outer side surfaces. 6. The roof box system according to claim 1, wherein the opposing lateral portions are-side walls at least one of integrated into the roof of the motor vehicle and arranged on the roof of the motor vehicle so that the side walls form two side surfaces of the roof box system. 7. The roof box system according to claim 1, wherein when the insertion element is arranged in the interspace, a gap in a transition area between a rear edge of the top portion of the at least one ceiling element and a top edge of a rearmost one of the at least one outer wall of the insertion element is substantially closed. 8. The roof box system according to claim 1, wherein the roof box system features a first-guide in the form of at least one of guide rails and guide bars on at least one of an inside of the at least one ceiling element and the roof base element. 9. The roof box system according to claim 8, wherein the insertion element includes a second guide in the form of at least one of rollers, bars and pins configured to mechanically engage with the first guide. 10. The roof box system according to claim 9, wherein the insertion element is at least one of a hard-top case, a rolling case, and a trolley. 11. The roof box system according to claim 10, wherein the second guide includes rollers configured to be at least one of sunk into the insertion element folded so that the rollers do not protrude from the insertion element. 12. The roof box system according to claim 3, wherein the roof base element includes an opening for a sunroof, andthe at least one ceiling element includes a complementary opening which corresponds to a shape and location of the roof base element opening when the at least one ceiling element is in the initial state. 13. The roof box system according to claim 12, wherein the insertion element includes a shield-shaped closing element having a shape which corresponds to a shape of the complementary opening of the at least one ceiling element when the at least one ceiling element is in the receiving state and the insertion element is located in the interspace. 14.
