The mounting system of claim 1, further comprising: a counterbalance assembly that cooperates with the assembly to inhibit movement of the assembly when a user does not apply a force to the mounting system and to allow the user to apply a force to rotate the assembly relative to the fixed support bracket to move the television between the lowered position and the stowed position. 7. The mounting system of claim 1, wherein the assembly is configured to rotate an angle of at least about 90 degrees to move the television from the stowed position to the lowered position. 8. The mounting system of claim 1, wherein the assembly is configured to swing the television in front of the fireplace when the television is moved to the lowered position. 9. The mounting system of claim 1, wherein the assembly moves toward a vertical orientation when the television is moved toward the stowed position. 10. A mounting system comprising: a display bracket holding a television;a fixed support bracket; andan assembly including a linkage being rotatable relative to the fixed support bracket to move the television from a stowed position to a lowered position, wherein the assembly includes at least one tilt setting device with a pivot about which the linkage rotates, wherein the assembly causes the pivot to translate along a slot to adjust forward/rearward tilt of the television as the television moves between the stowed position and the lowered position,wherein the at least one tilt setting device is reconfigurable to adjust and limit a distance the pivot is capable of traveling along the slot and is operable to cause an increase or decrease of forward/rearward tilt of the television such that the television is positioned at a stowed angle of tilt at which a screen of the television is general perpendicular to a stationary viewer's line of sight,wherein the at least one tilt setting device is operable to cause an increase or decrease of forward/rearward tilt of the television such that the television is positioned at a lowered angle of tilt at which the screen is generally perpendicular to the stationary viewer's line of sight, andwherein rotation of the assembly causes the pivot to be automatically driven along the slot, and the pivot rotates and translates to automatically tilt the television to keep the screen of the television generally perpendicular to the stationary viewer's line of sight as the television moves between the stowed position and the lowered position. 12. The mounting system of claim 11, wherein the at least one tilt setting device has different settings for driving the assembly to different configurations for causing rotation of the television to different forward/rearward tilts based upon vertical movement of the television. 13. The mounting system of claim 11, wherein the assembly is configured to gradually decrease the forward tilt of the television as the television is lowered toward the lowered position. 14. The mounting system of claim 11, wherein the at least one tilt setting device includes a positioner that sets the tilt of the television at the lowered position; anda tilt mechanism that sets the tilt of the television at the stowed position independent of the tilt set by the positioner. 15. A mounting system, comprising: a display bracket;a fixed support bracket;an assembly rotatable relative to the fixed support bracket to move a television carried by the display bracket from a stowed position to a lowered position; andat least one tilt setting device with a pivot about which the assembly rotates, wherein the pivot is configured to translate along an aperture when the assembly moves the television between the stowed and lowered positions, wherein the at least one tilt setting device is reconfigurable to adjust and limit a distance the pivot is capable of traveling along the aperture and has a first configuration for a first forward /rearward tilt setting and a second configuration for a second forward/rearward tilt setting, wherein rotation of the assembly causes the pivot to be automatically driven along the aperture a first distance when the at least one tilt setting device is in the first configuration and a second distance when the at least one tilt setting device is in the second configuration, wherein the second distance is different from the first distance. 16. The mounting system of claim 15, wherein the aperture is a slot of the fixed support bracket, and the at least one tilt setting device is configurable to control a length of travel of the pivot along the slot. 17. The mounting system of claim 15, wherein the assembly includes an adjustable length arm fixedly coupled to the pivot, and wherein a length of the adjustable length arm and distance of travel of the pivot along the aperture determine angular rotation of the display bracket when the television is moved between the stowed and lowered positions. 18.
