The apparatus of claim 1, wherein components of the apparatus are configured to provide protection to the mobile device against diverse environmental conditions. 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein components of the apparatus are configured to facilitate heat dissipation of the mobile device. 7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein components of the apparatus are configured to enhance Radio Frequency (RF) performance of the embedded transceiver. 8. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a receptacle for containing at least one wireless identification card associated with the at least one auxiliary wireless transceiver. 9. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a rechargeable battery within the housing, the rechargeable battery being connectable to the power port. 10. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising an electrical connector for enabling power transmission from the rechargeable battery to the mobile device. 11. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising at least one power regulator within the housing, the power regulator being configured to receive at least one control signal from the mobile device. 12. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising an antenna associated with the at least one auxiliary transceiver, the antenna has a gain of at least −5 dBi. 13. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the housing is configured to retain at least two auxiliary wireless transceivers. 14. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising at least one processor within the housing, wherein the at least one processor is configured to communicate with the mobile device and other electronic components within the apparatus and to control at least one of the components of the apparatus. 15. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising at least one processor within the housing, wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute decryption algorithms so that the plurality of data streams received over the at least one auxiliary transceiver and the embedded transceiver are decrypted. 16. The apparatus in claim 1, further comprising at least one processor within the housing, wherein the at least one processor is configured to authorize a pairing of a specific mobile device with the apparatus. 17. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a communication port associated with the housing for enabling an exchange of information between the mobile device and the apparatus. 18. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is further configured to enable downlink transmission of a first portion of the plurality of data streams received by the auxiliary transceiver while a second portion of the plurality of data streams is simultaneously received by the embedded transceiver. 19. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is further configured to enable uplink transmission of a data stream using at least one of the at least one auxiliary transceiver and the embedded transceiver. 20. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is further configured to enable uplink transmission of a first portion of a data stream over the at least one auxiliary transceiver while a second portion of the data stream is simultaneously transmitted over the embedded transceiver. 21. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is further configured to enable uplink transmission of a first portion of a data stream over the at least one auxiliary transceiver and a second portion of the data stream over the embedded transceiver in a manner permitting the data stream to be reconstructed at a receiver. 22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the apparatus is further configured to enable the uplink transmission while at least some of the plurality of data streams are simultaneously received using the auxiliary transceiver and the embedded transceiver. 23. An apparatus for cooperating with a mobile device, the apparatus comprising: a housing;a mechanical connector on the housing, the mechanical connector being configured to mechanically retain the mobile device;at least one port within the housing for conveying power to a first auxiliary wireless transceiver and to a second first auxiliary wireless transceiver;at least one processor within the housing configured to manage the receipt of a plurality of data streams using the first auxiliary wireless transceiver and the second first auxiliary wireless transceiver to enable assembly of a media stream from the plurality of data streams;wherein the apparatus is configured to cooperate with the mobile device when the mobile device is retained on the housing by the mechanical connector to display the media stream.
