The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 comprising magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide. 3. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 2 wherein the magnesium ions are present in a concentration ranging from about 16 ppm to about 80 ppm by weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate. 4. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 2 wherein a ratio of the acrylate-based polymer to the magnesium ions is from 1 to 25. 5. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 comprising calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or a calcium hydroxide. 6. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 5 wherein the calcium ions are present in a concentration ranging from about 1 mg/L to about 60 mg/L based on a total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate. 7. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 6 wherein a ratio of a concentration of the acrylate-based polymer to a concentration of the calcium ions is greater than about 4 and less than about 110. 8. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 comprising the combination of (a) magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide and (b) calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide. 9. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 further comprising lithium ions derived from a lithium salt of a lithium oxide and/or a lithium hydroxide. 10. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the freezing point depressant is present in an amount of 85 wt. % to 99 wt. % based on a total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate, wherein the carboxylate is present in an amount of 1 wt. % to 10 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate, wherein the inorganic phosphate is present in an amount of 0.01 wt. % to 5.0 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate, and wherein the azole compound is present in an amount of 0.01 wt. % to 3 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate. 11. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein a pH of the heat transfer fluid concentrate is from 7 to 9.5. 12. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the freezing point depressant comprises an alcohol. 13. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the freezing point depressant comprises ethylene glycol. 14. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the carboxylate comprises a plurality of carboxylates. 15. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the carboxylate comprises a C6-C20 carboxylate selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic mono-carboxylate, an aliphatic di-carboxylate, an aromatic mono-carboxylate, an aromatic di-carboxylate, and a combination thereof. 16. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the carboxylate comprises 2-ethyl hexanoic acid, neodecanoic acid, or a combination thereof. 17. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the inorganic phosphate comprises phosphoric acid. 18. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the azole compound comprises a benzotriazole, a tolyltriazole, a mercaptobenzothiazole, or a combination thereof. 19. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the acrylate-based polymer comprises a polyacrylate. 20. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the heat transfer fluid concentrate is free of silicate, borate, and amines. 21. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the heat transfer fluid concentrate is free of calcium molybdate. 22. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 1 wherein the heat transfer fluid concentrate is free of acetate. 23. A heat transfer fluid concentrate comprising: ethylene glycol in an amount of 90 wt. % to 98 wt. % based on a total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate;an aliphatic carboxylate in an amount of 1.5 wt. % to 7 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate;phosphoric acid in an amount of 0.05 wt. % to 5 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate;a tolyltriazole in an amount of 0.05 wt. % to 2 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid concentrate;magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide, or calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide, or a combination of magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide and calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide; anda polyacrylate. 24. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 23 comprising magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide. 25. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 23 comprising calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or a calcium hydroxide. 26. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 23 comprising a combination of magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide and calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide. 27. A heat transfer fluid comprising: water;a freezing point depressant in an amount of 1 wt. % to 90 wt. % based on a total weight of the heat transfer fluid;a carboxylate in an amount of 0.5 wt. % to 8 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid;an inorganic phosphate in an amount of 0.05 wt. % to 3 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid;an azole compound in an amount of 0.005 wt. % to 2 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid;magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide, wherein the magnesium ions are present in an amount of 2 ppm to 60 ppm by weight of the heat transfer fluid, or calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide, wherein the calcium ions are present in an amount greater than 0.5 ppm by weight of the heat transfer fluid, or a combination of (a) magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide and (b) calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide; andan acrylate-based polymer. 28. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 27 comprising magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide in an amount wherein a ratio of the acrylate-based polymer to the magnesium ions is from 1 to 25. 29. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 27 comprising calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or a calcium hydroxide in an amount wherein a ratio of the acrylate-based polymer to the calcium ions is greater than about 4 and less than about 110. 30. The heat transfer fluid concentrate of claim 27 comprising the combination of magnesium ions derived from magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide and calcium ions derived from calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide. 31. The heat transfer fluid of claim 27 wherein a pH of the heat transfer fluid is from 7 to 9.5. 32. The heat transfer fluid of claim 27 wherein the freezing point depressant comprises ethylene glycol. 33. A heat transfer fluid comprising: water;ethylene glycol in an amount of 30 wt. % to 90 wt. % based on a total weight of the heat transfer fluid;an aliphatic carboxylate in an amount of 0.6 wt. % to 7 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid;phosphoric acid in an amount of 0.07 wt. % to 0.35 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid;a tolyltriazole in an amount of 0.007 wt. % to 1.5 wt. % based on the total weight of the heat transfer fluid;calcium ions derived from a calcium salt of a calcium oxide and/or a calcium hydroxide, wherein the calcium ions are present in an amount of 0.5 ppm to 60 ppm by weight of the heat transfer fluid;magnesium ions derived from a magnesium salt of a magnesium oxide and/or a magnesium hydroxide, wherein the magnesium ions are present in an amount of 4 ppm to 65 ppm by weight of the heat transfer fluid; anda polyacrylate in an amount wherein a ratio of the polyacrylate to the magnesium ions is from 1 to 25.
