The plumbing fitting of claim 4, wherein each flow control valve of the first and second flow control valves comprises: a spool operatively coupled to the actuator, such that the flow control valve is moved relative to the valve housing through the spool;a first valve member coupled to the spool to engage a first outlet of the two outlets of the associated inlet chamber in a closed position of the flow control valve to prevent the associated fluid from flowing from the inlet chamber to the mixing chamber and to disengage from the first outlet to allow the fluid to flow from the inlet chamber to the mixing chamber in an open position of the flow control valve; anda second valve member coupled to the spool to engage a second outlet of the two outlets of the associated inlet chamber in the closed position of the flow control valve to prevent the associated fluid from flowing from the inlet chamber to the mixing chamber and to disengage from the second outlet to allow the fluid to flow from the inlet chamber to the mixing chamber in the open position of the flow control valve. 6. The plumbing fitting of claim 5, wherein the first and second outlets of the first inlet chamber are located at opposite ends thereof, and the first and second outlets of the second inlet chamber are located at opposite ends thereof. 7. The plumbing fitting of claim 5, wherein each outlet of each inlet chamber comprises a valve seat and the associated valve member comprises a cylindrical portion that engages the valve seat in the closed position and disengages from the valve seat in the open position. 8. The plumbing fitting of claim 5, wherein the actuator comprises: a first motor configured to move the first flow control valve between the open position and the closed position; anda second motor configured to move the second flow control valve between the open position and the closed position;wherein each motor can move the associated flow control valve independently of the other motor and the other flow control valve. 9. The plumbing fitting of claim 1, wherein the plumbing fitting is a shower head, and the hollow body comprises a stem and a spray head mounted on the stem, and wherein the valve housing is disposed within and coupled to the stem or the spray head. 10. The plumbing fitting of claim 1, wherein the plumbing fitting is a faucet, and the hollow body comprises a mounting base and a spout extending upwardly from the mounting base, and wherein the valve housing is disposed within and coupled to the mounting base or the spout. 11. The plumbing fitting of claim 1, wherein the plumbing fitting is a bar mixer, the hollow body includes a control panel for controlling the flow of the first and second fluids through input from a user, and the bar mixer further comprises: a spray head for dispensing at least one of the first fluid or the second fluid or a mixture of the first and second fluids; anda flexible hose fluidly connecting the hollow body and the spray head. 12. The plumbing fitting of claim 1, further comprising a heating element located within the plumbing fitting for heating at least one of the hollow body and the valve housing to an elevated temperature sufficient to kill bacteria and/or bio-film within an internal waterway of the plumbing fitting. 13. A plumbing fitting configured to receive a first fluid from a first fluid supply and a second fluid from a second fluid supply, the plumbing fitting comprising: a hollow body;a mixing valve separate from and located within the hollow body, the mixing valve comprising: a housing having a first inlet for receiving the first fluid, a second inlet for receiving the second fluid, and a mixing chamber;a first flow control valve movable relative to the housing to control a flow of the first fluid from the first inlet to the mixing chamber; anda second flow control valve movable relative to the housing to control a flow of the second fluid from the second inlet to the mixing chamber; anda heating element located in the plumbing fitting and configured to thermally disinfect the mixer valve during a heating cycle. 14. The plumbing fitting of claim 13, wherein the heating element is located in a bore in the housing of the mixing valve and is configured to thermally disinfect at least the mixing chamber. 15. The plumbing fitting of claim 14, wherein the first and second inlets are located on a first side of the housing that is opposite to a second side of the housing having the bore and heating element. 16. The plumbing fitting of claim 15, further comprising: a first motor disposed within the hollow body and configured to move the first flow control valve relative to the housing to control the flow of the first fluid from the first inlet to the mixing chamber, such that the first fluid flowing from the first inlet to the mixing chamber exerts substantially no net force on the first flow control valve; anda second motor disposed within the hollow body and configured to move the second flow control valve relative to the housing to control the flow of the second fluid from the second inlet to the mixing chamber, such that the second fluid flowing form the second inlet to the mixing chamber exerts substantially no net force on the second flow control valve. 17. A plumbing fitting comprising: a hollow body;a mixing valve separate from and located within the hollow body, the mixing valve comprising: a housing having a first inlet for receiving the first fluid, a second inlet for receiving the second fluid, and a mixing chamber;a first flow control valve at least partially disposed within the housing;a second flow control valve at least partially disposed within the housing;a first motor coupled to the housing and configured to move the first flow control valve relative to the housing to control a flow of the first fluid from the first inlet to the mixing chamber;a second motor coupled to the housing and configured to move the second flow control valve relative to the housing to control a flow of the second fluid from the second inlet to the mixing chamber; anda controller coupled to the housing and configured to control operation of the first and second motors independently of one another. 18. The plumbing fitting of claim 17, further comprising a user interface that allows a user to select a desired flow rate and a desired temperature of the outlet water from the plumbing fitting, wherein the controller receives the selected desired flow rate and the selected desired temperature from the interface and sends control signals to the first and second motors to operate the first and second flow control valves to achieve the selected desired temperature and the selected desired flow rate of the outlet water. 19. The plumbing fitting of claim 18, wherein the user interface includes a touchscreen having a display for providing a visual indication of the flow rate and temperature of the outlet water. 20. The plumbing fitting of claim 19, wherein the user interface is disposed on the plumbing fitting. 21. The plumbing fitting of claim 13, wherein the first flow control valve is configured such that the first fluid flowing from the first inlet to the mixing chamber exerts substantially no net force on the first flow control valve, and the second flow control valve is configured such that the second fluid flowing from the second inlet to the mixing chamber exerts substantially no net force on the second flow control valve. 22. The plumbing fitting of claim 21, wherein substantially no net force is a level of imbalance of up to ±10% of an actuating force when fully force balanced. 23. The plumbing fitting of claim 22, wherein substantially no net force is a level of imbalance of up to ±5% of the actuating force when fully force balanced. 24.
