The tonneau cover system according to claim 1, further comprising a second biasing member between the first and the second clamp members and biasing the first and the second clamp members toward the unlocked position. 6. The tonneau cover system according to claim 1, wherein the second clamp member includes a first housing that includes a first contact and a second contact, the first contact is positioned to engage against the locking mechanism and move the locking mechanism toward the elongate member as the first and the second clamp members move from the unlocked position toward the locked position, and the second contact is positioned to engage against the locking mechanism and move the locking mechanism away from the elongate member as the first and the second clamp members move from the locked position toward the unlocked position. 7. The tonneau cover system according to claim 1, wherein the first clamp member includes a housing, and the locking mechanism is pivotably coupled to the housing. 8. The tonneau cover system according to claim 1, wherein the elongate member comprises a rod defining an axis, wherein the locking mechanism is movable to engage the elongate member to prevent axial movement along the axis of the first and second clamp members in response to the first and the second clamp members being in the locked position. 9.
