Improved radio-transparent communication tower panel security devices that can be easily mounted to and strapped around the cover panels of communication towers, including flag-supporting cellular communication towers, so as to band and secure the cover panels thereto and prevent them from falling off in high winds and/or other adverse weather conditions, while preventing wear and tear of flags and their lanyards. Preferably, the communication tower panel security device employs a flexible plastic tubing assembly and a ratchet-based connecting/tensioning assembly for safely securing radiation-transparent panels covering antenna service bays of a wireless telecommunication tower.

1. A communication tower panel security device for securing cover panels covering an antenna service bay arranged within a communication tower having a supporting mast structure, said communication tower panel security device comprising: a flexible plastic tubing assembly including a length of plastic tubing with a first end and a second end, and adapted for wrapping around cover panels covering an antenna service bay arranged in a communication tower having a supporting mast structure;said flexible plastic tubing assembly including a connector module including a first end connector having a barbed portion for receiving the first end of said length of plastic tubing, and a tension band having an end portion;a connecting/tensioning assembly for interconnecting with said flexible plastic tubing assembly and generating and maintaining sufficient tension forces to ensure that said plastic tubing secures said cover panels in place to said supporting mast structure during expected weather conditions;wherein said connecting/tensioning assembly comprises a frame having (i) a central cavity within which a ratchet mechanism is mounted, (ii) a channel for receiving the end portion of said tension band, and (iii) a second end connector having a barbed portion for receiving the second end of said length of plastic tubing; andwherein said ratchet mechanism includes a sprocket wheel for engaging the end portion of said tension band, and generating and maintaining sufficient tension forces so as to ensure that said plastic tubing secures said cover panels in place to said supporting mast structure during expected weather conditions. 2. The communication tower panel security device of claim 1, wherein said ratchet mechanism further comprises: a crank lever for rotating said sprocket wheel during tensioning operations; and a release lever pivotally mounted to said frame within said cavity for engaging spaced apart dents formed along said tension band during tensioning operations. 3. The communication tower panel security device of claim 1, wherein said sprocket wheel has teeth; and wherein said tension band has spaced apart apertures which are received in and engaged by the teeth of said sprocket wheel as said tension band is slid and advanced within said channel as said tension lever is cranked so as to tighten said flexible plastic tubing assembly about the tower communication to secure said cover panels. 4. A communication tower panel security device for securing cover panels covering an antenna service bay arranged within a communication tower having a supporting mast structure, said communication tower panel security device comprising: a flexible plastic tubing assembly including a length of plastic tubing with a first end and a second end, and adapted for wrapping around the cover panels of the antenna service bay of a communication tower having a supporting mast structure;said flexible plastic tubing assembly includes a connector module including a first end connector having a barbed portion for receiving the first end of said length of plastic tubing, and a tension band having an end portion;a connecting/tensioning assembly for interconnecting with said flexible plastic tubing assembly and generating and maintaining sufficient compression and tension forces to ensure that the plastic tubing secures said cover panels in place to said supporting mast structure during expected weather conditions;wherein said connecting/tensioning assembly comprises a frame having (i) a open channel for receiving the engaging end portion of the end connector, (ii) an open cavity region within which a linear-type ratcheting mechanism is mounted;a handle pivotally mounted about a shaft that is supported along said frame;first and second apertured plates slid over said shaft and fitted within cavities formed within said frame; andan engaging block hingedly connected to the proximal end of said handle, and also coupled to said first apertured plate;wherein when the handle is rotated, the handle translates said engaging block which, in turn, translates said first aperture plate which, in turn, advances the shaft in a tension-generating direction by an incremental amount during each handling cranking operation;wherein the function of said first apertured plate is for advancing said shaft along its axis during tensioning operations, whereas said second apertured plate is for locking said shaft in position during tensioning operations. 5. The communication tower panel security device of claim 4, wherein said shaft has grooves, and wherein with each increment of forward moment of said shaft, achieved by a cranked rotation of said handle in the clockwise direction, said second apertured plate locks into the grooves of said shaft, preventing said shaft from slipping backwards and maintaining the tension being created during the tensioning operations. 6. The communication tower panel security device of claim 4, wherein with each crank of said handle, greater tension is imparted to said plastic tubing about said cover panels, thereby securing said cover panels in position. 7. The communication tower panel security device of claim 4, wherein when tensioning operations are completed, said handle is pushed and locked in its closed downwardly configuration, wherein the end of said handle has projections that grip about and locked around said plastic tubing surrounding the barbed portion of said end connector. 8. The communication tower panel security device of claim 4, wherein when said handle is lifted up from its closed configuration, and the release plate is pushed/rotated using ones finger, a release plate disengages from the dents on the surface of said shaft, thereby releasing the tension along said shaft and plastic tubing extending around said communication tower.
