본 연구사업은 대형 회유 어군 및 연안성의 소규모 어군을 동시에 어획할 수 있는 고성능의 개량식 정치망을 개발하여 그 설계지침을 어민들에게 널리 보급함으로서 생산성과 기술수준을 향상시키고, 조업방식을 기계화하여 다인수 (약 12명) 조업방식에서 소인수(6명 이하)조업이 가능한 생력화 조업시스템을 구축함으로서 조업경비를 절감시키는데 목적을 둔다.
이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 1차년도의 연구개발 목표는 개량식 정 치망의 기본 구조 설계 및 망어구 제작이며, 그 내용 및 범위는 어장환경 및 내유어군의 행동패턴에 적합한 고성능

Present study aimed to be increased productivity and technique level of fishermen by education for the design criteria of the improved set net catched large migration schools and the coastal fishes, and to be decreased cost of operating by development for the operating system with laborsaving technical machines.
A series of study for the set net was carried out to be achieved purpose of present study. As the first step of study, we designed and manufactured the improved set net, based on the fishing ground condition and fish behavior. As the second step, we carried out the field experiment for gear-structure, productivity and fishing efficiency of the improved set net to be of practical use. Also, we made the model of laborsaving technical operating system, can be reduced man power less than about 50%.
The obtained results can be summarized as follows :
The target species of the improved set net is in the order of anchovy, migration species, and survival coastal species in great demand recently. The setting depth and maximum flow speed of the fishing ground used the improved set net are found about 28m, 0.8knot respectively,
The properties of the improved set net are
① the set net with the support leader, called as 'manto', can be caught anchovy and large migration species,
② the support leader composed with wing and ascending slope net in door,
③ the double bag net designed to be stayed anchovy at the fore one and migration species at the back one.
④ play ground with bottom
⑤ knotless and Raschel netting used play ground, ascending slope net and bag nets to be reduced the hydrodynamic resistance of fishing gear,
⑥ the size or suspending power of buoy and sand bag increased about 1.2 times than that of the traditional gear,
⑦ the sinking ropes used to be kept under net moving by flow as current and tide, and about 1.8 of specific weight.
And, the fixing ropes are tied 6 points positioned at 2 edges of play ground, ascending slope net and bag net respectively, to be prevented the rise of the net by the hydrodynamic resistance of fishing gear.
The results of the fishing experiment for the improved set net are
① Nevertheless the traditional gear positioned a Tojangpo bay could not be caught anchovy in the past, anchovy was caught maximum 6 ton/day by the improved gear. In the fishing test, the improved set net composed with the support leader and double bag net was shown that the catching possibility and high productivity of anchovy was ascertained.
② The support leader structure in door of the gear was shown large migration schools entering into the play ground was haven no difficulty, and the stay efficiency against escape of fishes by the 3 steps of the ascending slope net between both support leader and ones positioned front side of fore and back bag net was increased greatly.
③ Mean catch of the improved gear was about 7.1ton/day when the hauling net was carried out normally two times per a day. And this was a large mass of production in comparison with that of the order one, about 3.5ton/day of total mean catch.
④ The order set nets positioned near the testing ground was caught a small mass of production with maximum catch 2.0ton/day for the same testing time.
In conclusion, the fishing efficiency of the improved set net with the support leader and double bag net was about 2.0 times better than that of the order ones.
Traditional large scale set net operation used to two boats per unit set net, every boat equipped two ring line hauler and 6 persons were worked respectively. In small scale set net used to one boat per unit set net with two ring line hauler and 5∼7 persons were worked. Improved ring line hauler consisted of two capstans, one sub-roller and automatic hauling stop device. One crew can control two ring line hauler because this system is more automated during line hauling compared with traditional ring line hauler.
In this study, two types of operation way were proposed. One was large scale set net operation. For two boats system, the crew were reduced from 12 crews to 4 ones. The other was a small scale set net operation. In this case used one boat. The crews were reduced from 5∼ 7 crews to 3 ones.
A. Development of the improved set net.
This project for improving set net showed design guide of set net with 6 ways according to targeted fish species of fish catching and fishing ground condition. The result of testing fishing gear indicated high efficiency fishing gear in order to catch anchovy and lots of migrated fishes with model of fishing gear at the same time. Accordingly, design guide of set net and its popularized type of set net is able to utilized to all set net development in Korean waters.
B. Reducing effects of laborsaving operation system.
It is confirmed laborsaving operation system proposed in this study, make possible reduce the crew from 10∼12 crews to 4 ones.
C. Survey system of fishing ground.
Adopted fishing ground survey system in this project is composed to GPS(Global Positioning System), fish finder and Personal Computer and this system is able to obtain sea bottom topographical chart navigating boat. Using this system, it is able to utilized to choose fishing ground propriety of set net and new fishing gear installation, reasonably.
D. Fish behavior survey
Tracing method to monitor fish behavior with pinger against fish can be available to fish behavior investigation of fish in this project.
