In this study, the Stirling cryocooler for the IR detector and Pulse tube cryocooler for the RF filter were developed. The Stirling cycooler system has cryocooler, which is consisted of the compressor and expander, and the control unit. The pulse tube cryocooler has a compressor, regenerator, pulse tube, inertance tube, and buffer. The linear compressor for Stirling cryocoofer and pulse tube cryocoofer is moving coil type, and generate a linear motion using electro-magetic forces from permanent magnet and coil. The displacer with mechnical coil spring and regenerator is pnumetically driven. To control the leakage from compression space, the compressor has the fine gap seal. The control of displacement of the piston could adjust the cooling power of the cryocooler. T1ie type of the pulse tube cryocoofer is inertance, because inertance has stable cooling capacity and cool-down performance. And the configuration of the expansion unit is in-line. Also, the fundamental ' study for the U-type, which has rigorous structure and easy installation of cryo-sensor, were performed. The linear compressor with linear motor is a key component in the Stirling type cryocooler. The electro-magnetic analysis and performance tests of the linear motor were performed. And the design procedures of the linear motor were established. The regenerator is another key component in the cryocooler. The cryocooler require extremely high thermal efficiency. In this study, the pressure drop through regenerator and thermal characteristics were investigated. The thermal performance requirement of the cryocooler could be minimized with the good thermal insulation of the package. In this study, the packaging technologies for a direct-cooled IR sensor were development. The transient and steady heat leak from environment was analyzed and measured. The thermal mass of the dewar is estimated The prototype Stirling cryocooler with 0.5W (@77K) was designed, manufactured. The performance test for prototype Stirling were performed. Also the prototype pulse tube cryocooler with linear compressor was designed, assembled and tested. Finally, the insurance tests for millitary specification were performed for the protype Stirling cryocooler. For military test of the cryoccoler, the tests procedure and method was established.
