Ginkgo biloba comes from the leaves of the ginkgo tree, one of the oldest living plant species. Dating back more than 250 million years, it is often referred to as "a living fossil." The ginkgo leaf contains many active ingredients, including flavonol and flavone glycosides, diterpene lactones, ginkgolides, sesquiterpenes, iron-based superoxide dismutase, p-hydroxybenzoicacid, ascorbic acid, and catechin. The crude drug formulation of ginkgo is obtained from the dried green leaves. An ethanol-water mixture is used to extract and concentrate the active constituents and remove toxic compounds such as ginkgolic acids. We has been tested various GBE to mite(Acarina), tick, bugs and microorganisms to conform the effectiveness of GBE. We applied to patent with scope of extraction methods and composition of extracted materials. And our Ginkgo Biloba Extracts have been passed for GLP test. The fresh green leaves are collected from September and October around Chunnam province in Korea and dried in the indoor area. The dried leaves extracted by water-alcohols mixture controlling the active constituents. The optimum condition of extraction are as fellows; water-ethanol ratio is 6:4, solvent temperature is 80OC and extraction time is 4 hours. This extracted liquid distilled and concentrated until obtaine the target materials. The final solution contained bilobalide; 0.215㎎, ginkgolide A; 0.840㎎, ginkgolide B; 0.272㎎ in the 100ml solution ). Anti bacterial effects was tested for Ralstonia solanacerum, Burkholderia glumal, Xanthomonas campestris pv. Oryzae, Pseudomonas lacrymans. Anti fungal effect was tested with T. beigelli, Pityrosporum ovale. Pesticdie effects was carried on Dermatophagoidees pteronyssinus, Tetranychus urticae, Spodoptera litura, Plutella xylostella, Myzus persicae. From the results comparing the morphological changes by transmission electron microscope on the cell of Ralstonia solanacerum, we know that anti bacterial effects was owe to the increase the cell size by destruction of cell wall. The concentrated solution could apply for many products as a antibiotics and pesticide. The products categorized into three groups according to ratio of composition including flavone glycosides (FG), terpene lactones (TL) and ginkgolic acids (GA). The fresh leaves and/or dried leaves are used to produce extracts by water-alcohols-heptane mixture controlling the active constituents. This materials could environmental consciously apply to agriculture filed, anti anti-bacterial agent for clothes, tick drugs using for home, shampoo, soap, etc.
