The Rare Isotope Accelerator, KoRIA (Korea Rare Isotope Accelerator), is designed as a world-class multi-purpose facility to support a wide range of cutting edge science programs in atomic physics, bio & medical science, materials science, nuclear astrophysics, nuclear science as well as in interdisciplinary science programs. To meet the diverse demands, the design of KoRIA is optimized to provide not only various high intensity stable ion beams from protons to uranium but also rare isotope (RI) beams for domestic and international users. The KoRIA includes the Isotope Separator On-Line (ISOL) facility, the In-Flight Fragmentation (IFF) facility, and a combination of these two facilities. The ISOL facility is driven by 70/100kW Cyclotron and 400kW Superconducting Linac System. The 400kW Superconducting Linac System is also a driver accelerator for the IFF facility. The conceptual design project has been carried out for eleven months in close collaboration with international research institutes and universities. In an effort for that, the International Advisory Committee (IAC) and the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) have been formed consisting of world renowned experts. Both committees have engaged actively in the conceptual design effort in the year of 2010 and strengthened the scientific and technological capacity of KoRIA. Various groups have been formed consisting of domestic experts supporting accelerator systems design, user programs development and experiment systems design. A parallel effort is taken to bring up next generation of young scientists and engineers. The layout, configuration and parameters of accelerator systems and experiment systems have been significantly progressed through the conceptual design efforts, which are presented in this report. As experimental instruments, the following components are formulated here.
