ㅇ 보 구간의 수질은 평수기 또는 갈수기인 봄·가을과 겨울에는 예년과 유사한 수질 상태를 보였으며, 홍수기인 여름에는 탁수 유입의 영향으로 일시적으로 유기물과 영양염류가 증가하였다. 보 구간의 상·하류 간 수질변화는 크지 않았으나 양화천과 복하천이 합류된 이후인 이포보 구간에서는 유입천의 영향이 일부 존재하였다.
ㅇ 식물플랑크톤은 152종이 출현하였고, 평균 현존량은 3,195cells/ml였다.

ㅇ 조류는 겨울철새를 포함하여 87종 12,239개체가 관찰되었으며, 법적 보호종은 11종으로 천연기념물 7종, 멸종위기야생동물 I 급 1종, 멸종위기야생동물II급 8종이었다.
ㅇ 포유류는 13종이 출현하였으며, 법적 보호종으로는 천연기념물이자 멸종위기야생동물 I 급인 수달과 멸종위기야생동물II 급인 삵이 조사되었다.

o Air temperatures during the winter and spring of 2011 were lower than those of last year, and air temperature during the autumn season of 2011 was higher than that of the average year.
o Total annual precipitation was 2,131mm, that was more 600mm than that of the average year. During the winter and spring of 2011 were the dry season, and 76% of total annual precipitation was concentrated during the summer of 2011.
2. Physico-chemical water quality
o The mean value of water temperature was 13±7℃ during Dec. of 2010 to Nov. of 2011. There was little difference between the investigation sites. The average concentration of DO was 12.0±2.0mg/L, the lower sites were higher than the upper sites in the weir construction section. The average concentration of pH was 8.1±0.3, and there was little difference between the investigation sites. The mean value of conductivity was 204±34μS/cm, the lower sites were higher sites than the upper in the weir construction section.
o The average concentration of Turbidity and SS was each 13.7±15.0NTU, 12.9±12.1mg/L, and the lower sites were higher than the upper sites in the weir installation section.
o The average concentration of BOD was 1.3±0.5mg/L, the lower sites were higher than the upper sites in the weir construction section. The mean value of COD was 3.5±0.9mg/L, there was the most higher in the Ipo Weir section. The average concentation of TOC was 2.3±0.5mg/L, the lower sites were higher than the upper sites in the each weir.
o The mean value of Chl. a was 6.5±6.3mg/m³, the lower sites were higher than the upper sites in the weir construction section.
o The average concentration of TN, DTN, NO₃-N and NH₃-N was 2.575±0.361mgN/L, 2.458±0.363mgN/L, 2.216±0.336mgN/L, 0.058+0.045,gN/L, respectively. The concentration of TN was little difference between the investigation sites, but in case of NH₃-N was increased more and more in the lower weir construction section.
o The average concentration of TP, DTP and PO₄-P was each 0.053±0.032mgP/L, 0.027±0.017mgP/L, 0.022±0.016mgP/L, respectively. The lower sites were higher than the upper sites in the weir construction section.
o The average colony number of total coliforms and fecal coliforms was each 1,687±2,895 CFU/100ml, 168±363CFU/100ml, and the lower sites were higher than the upper sites in the weir construction section.
o The concentration of heavy metal (Cd, Pb, Cr+6, As, Hg) was not detected in the weir installation section.
3. Biota
o Total of 152 phytoplankton species(76 species of Bacillariophycea, 46 species of Chlorophycea, 14 species of Cyanophycea, and 16 species of other class) was identified in the weir construction section. The average of phytoplankton abundance was 3,195cells/ml, and the occupation rate of each taxon was 90% for Bacillariophycea, 4% for Chlorophycea, 3% for Cyanophycea, 3% for other class, respectively. Stephanodiscus hantzschii and Cyclotella atomus belonging to diatom were dominant in the weir construction section. Merismopedia tenuissima belonging to blue-green algae was dominant for the autumn.
o Total of 83 zooplankton species (56 species of Rotifera, 6 species of Copepoda, 5 species of Cladocera, and 16 species of Protozoa) was identified in the weir construction section. The average of zooplankton abundance was 44Ind./L, and the occupation rate of each taxon was 71% for Rotifera, 9% for Copepoda, 1% for Cladocera, 20% for Protozoa, respectively. Rotaria rotatoria belonging to Rotifera was dominant during the winter and spring seasons. Keratella cochlearis and Synchaeta oblonga belonging to Rotifera were dominant during the summer and autumn seasons.
o 185 species of vascular plants and 8 species of hydrophyte in our riparian vegetation survey were found. The number of naturalized plant species was 31 species. Aster altaicus var. uchiyamae and Polygonatum stenophyllum designated Endangered Species were found in the weir construction section.
o 98 species (including 77 species of aquatic insects) of benthic macroinvertebrates were surveyed in the weir construction section. The average of benthic macroinvertebrates abundance was 185Ind./m².
o 49 species of fishes were captured in the weir installation section and total number of fishes was 1,523. Gobiobotia macrocephala and Gobiobotia brevibarba designated Endangered Species were found in the weir construction section.
o Total 19 species of amphibians(8 species) and reptiles(11 species) were surveyed in the weir installation section. Eremias argus designated Endangered Species was found in the weir construction section.
o 87 species of birds were surveyed in the weir construction section and total number of birds was 12,239. 11 species designated Endangered Species and 7 species designated Natural Monument were found in the weir installation section.
o 13 species of mammals were surveyed in the weir construction section. Lutra lutra, and Prionailurus bengalensis designated Endangered Species or Natural Monument were found in the weir installation section.
