○ This sub-project is aimed at ① testing and evaluation system of Eco-ship technologies to cope with environmental regulations related to IMO shipbuilding and shipping industry and ② establishment of testing and evaluation infrastructure* for technology development and certification.
* Green-ship Test & Certification Center(TCC)
○ The target technologies of this task were selected through analyzing the urgency and economic feasibility of ship application to existing technology, and the “test and evaluation system” and related “infrastructure” of target technologies** were established.
** Target technology : Low friction paint, Fuel quality, Exhaus-gas after-treatment system(De-NOx), Waste Heat Recovery System, Hybrid-power system, Big-data analysis-based Sailing optimization

1. Selection of TCS Target technologies
- Analysis of GHG / pollutant reduction effect(simulation etc.)
- Onboard verification & data analysis(by using onboard measurement system)
2. Establishment of TCS system
- Test and evaluation system for each technology
* Target technologies : Low friction paint, Fuel quality, Exhaus-gas after-treatment system(De-NOx), Waste Heat Recovery System, Hybrid-power system, Big-data analysis-based Sailing optimization
- Investigation and analysis of performance evaluation and test methods
- Establishing test equipment/facility for the target technologies

3. Study on the improvement of domestic law related to TCS system
- Establishment of linkage system for green certification system

○ The project is aimed at developing of post processing system on exhaust gas of green ship which responds to environmental regulations of IMO
- Development of the NOx reduction system for 2-stroke marine engine of more than 3,800 PS
- NOx removal efficiency: Satisfaction of Tier III requirement of NOx Technical Code
- Production of Pilot type and Prototype of SCR system
- SCR performance test in both TCC of KR and ship on the sea
□ 과제내용
1. Development of design technology of post processing system of exhaust gas
- Basic design of efficient reduction system of NOx, soot, etc.
- Mass balance of SCR system
- Interface development for monitoring of environmental contamination materials and engine parameter
2. Development of modules and Control and monitoring equipment of the SCR system
- Detail design and parts production of SCR system for the 500 PS engine
- Technology development of Control logic and monitoring system for applying to SCR system
- Technology development of image visualization for condition monitoring of SCR catalysts
3. Demo system design of SCR system of a marine engine with more than 5,000 PS
- Improvement and performance test of part products and prototype of the SCR system for the 500 PS engine
- Design of SCR system for the marine engine of more than 5,000 PS
- Size-up technology of Demo system
4. Prototype production of the SCR system for the marine engine of more than 5,000 PS
- Demo system production of SCR system for the marine engine of more than 5,000 PS
- Performance check and design modification of demo systemand components of the SCR system
- Start of performance test in the TCC for SCR demo system installed in marin engine
5. Demonstration test for the SCR system with 5,000 PS
- Demonstration test in the TCC for the SCR system with 5,000 PS
- Data analysis of the demonstration test and design modification of the demo SCR system
- Development of portable heat-resistance endoscope for catalyst condition monitoring
6. Demonstration test on the sea of the SCR system installed in 3,800 PS engine

3. Demonstration test of the SCR system in both TCC of KR (10,000 PS engine) and ship on the sea (3,800 PS engine)
Expected Contribution
1. The developed SCR system can apply for NOx reduction of a thermoelectric power plant, waste incineration facility and etc. as well as the marine diesel engine
2. The developed urea dosing control system can apply for seawater/pure water supplement and control system of SOx reduction system
