Fruit thinning as influenced by carbaryl spraying was the most sensitive by fruit diameter in Jonagold among cultivars treated. 4. Ethylene evolution after carbaryl spraying was increased in cultivar `Tsugaru' while no change was observed in cultivar 'Fuji'.
