I have inquired into the anthropological features on Heidegger's fundamental ontology, which I tried to arrange in the light of the existential anthropology in my thesis. Though the fundamental ontology does not make anthropology the primary task, it can be applied to the view of existential anthropology in that the analysis of Dasein-Being-in-the-world in "Being and Time" is rooted to the basic matter of philosophical anthropology. In chapter 2, I have inquired into Heidegger's view on the philosophical anthropology or the existing view of man, and pointed out that Heidegger's such view did not wholly deny anthropology. Since Heidegger did not look upon philosophical anthropology understood as a regional ontology as a core of philosophy, he made an assertion that anthropology should not be philosophy until it be particularly defined within the purpose or start-point of philosophy, that is to say, that if philosophy is not the science of Being-thing but the science of Being(ontology), philosophical anthropology should obtain its conception and method within the question of Being. Therefore, it is summarized that anthropology should investigate the question of 'what is man?' through the relationship of the questions of both the foundation-making of mataphysics and the essence of man. It is showed that Heidegger considered both the question of man and the question of Being same thing, and at last the question of man was substituted with the fundamantal ontology. In chapter 3, I have investigated the fundamental ontological view of man by the clue of Dasein of man defined on the horizon of the question of Being. First, I have inquired into the point that Heidegger's way of thought is rooted on 'Being and man in with' from the fundamental ontology up to Heidegger's post thought. Second, I have explicated the three features of the meaning of the concept of Dasein (Exitence, Being-in-the-wotld, Being towards-death), the first object of concern in order of questions by the superior position as either ontic or ontological. Finally, I have investigated several authors' views of the interpretation of man on the fundamental ontology based on the meaning of Dasein; Husserl and Buber considering the fundamental ontology anthropologism or anthopology; Kunz considering it fruitful to understand the fndamental ontology as the method of anthropology; Poeggeler, Ignatow, and Fahrenbach trying to seek out the fundamental possiblility of anthropology by considering ontology the plan or start-point of existential anthropology. In chapter 4, I have inquired into 'Apriori of existential anthropology' in the two ways: First, the concept of possibility as contribution to ontological foundation of anthropology; Second, the recovery of the framework of the essence of man at which the analysis of Dasein itself aims by the very access to existential anthropology. Above all, 1) when we develop the 'possibility'(Existenz) as Apriori of existential anthropology among Dasein's property, this concept of possibility as potentiality-for-Being, being-not-yet, indefiniteness, and discloseness, etcs. embraces the fact that man is not presence at hand, nor closed in the fixed framework, but open to its essence. This concept of possibility can be extended toward the question of the explication of the whole essence of man. This is why it is interpreted that existential indefiniteness does not stay at the characteristics of the essence of man produced in every case, but is always open to it produced in another situation. 2) Dasein as the essence of man shows up 'spirit'(Geist) within the traditional anthropology and existential intimateness. This possibility of interpretation is the far larger through the essential role of understanding(Verstehen) and at considering both self-cognition and self-consciousness same. But analysis of Dasein indicates that it can not be fixed to consciousness, spirit, or psyche. That is to say, Though each understanding and 'state-of-mind'(Befindlichkeit) exposes spirit, psychical phenomena, and intimate similarity, it shows up that this both are under the relationship of interdependence. Therefore if we justify it anthropologically, existential anthropology should not assert the spiritual superior to psychical phenomena or to the contrary. So in the unification of such both anthropology try to find out the essence of man. And 3) when we define man as 'Being-with' (Mitsein) in the extension of existence, the social essence of man shows up there. This is why man is experiencing himself as a resident of 'with-world'(Mitwelt) towards the world and Dasein-with for others. Morever I indicate that intersubjectivity can be a problem in that the concept of Being-with can develop the possibility to advance from the analysis of others to community. This view leads others to come to know its authentic possibility of Being, which is supported through the concept of 'leap-forth'solicitude(Fuersorge). In chapter 5, I have pointed out the several limitations of existential anthropology. Existential anthropology has its own inevitable limitations owing to the constructual limitation of existential analysis. Existential anthropology based on analysis of Dasein, of course, can be compete with the rich achievement of today philosophical anthropology, but we must not look over the fact that modern philosophical anthropology can, anyway, be rich with the Heidegger's existential-ontological foundation. Therefore we need not stict to the nuance of the old term of 'existential' word, which has meanings in that can always make different aspects or attitude of man possible.
