The economic growth brings about a rise in the standard of living, the change of living pattern influences a formation of physical environment, and especially automobile which was emerged as the modern conveniences with the improvement of economic level has a great influence on the formation of architectural theories. In Korea, as the automobile has been a major means to lead the convenience of life, living pattern has been greatly changed and it has also a great influence on construction. Above all, since the various modern conveniences for human beings have sometimes brought about a contrary effect and they have been major factors hindering a pleasantness, the systematic device for regulating these has been made and a representative project is parking lot. The automobile which has been a measure of material civilization and a symbol of convenience is now a factor hindering the pleasantness as much as its convenience and it is an important element of construction planning of parking lot. The results of this research on parking space in a university campus are as follows: 1. The current parking space of the university is 108% of legal parking limit and 108.9% of the number of automobiles, and its parking condition is good. 2. The number of automobiles parking at E-group of the the university is total 518 and parking time a car is 3.6 hours, the number of passenger is 1.19 persons a car, peak time of automobiles is 17:00-18:00 and the length of stay is 10:30 - l1:30 (highest). 3. According to the analysis of parking capacity of E group, time zone of peak-hour three hours in future parking lot planning is 08:00-10:00, the parking capacity for peak-hour 3 hours is 69, parking load is 171 an hour, the mean rotation an hour is 2.1, the mean length of parking is 0.2 hour, the number of parking rotation is over 1.8 times an hour and occupancy rate an hour is over 0.65 4. To sum up the prediction and analysis of appropriate parking demand of E group, it is shown that the current legal parking capacity(1.911 cars) is in more excess of 109.3% than P factor rule and unaccumulation parking limit rule, but since parking lot is placed in one area, it has led to much confusion. Accordingly, in large-scale development like campus, low-density placement of facilities should be led and large parking lot should not be constructed in an area.
