The object of this thesis is to understand the critical success factors affecting successful implementation of MIS. The critical success factors considered in this thesis are as follows: the size of enterprise, the time of MIS starting, the age of enterprises, the level of system research & development and the extent of communications between system user department and programming department. Comparing these success factors one another with the effects of information system by empirical analysis method, the successful MIS management could be achieved through the environmental and system actual factors in management rather than technological ones. The primary goal of this thesis is to improve the achievement of MIS. To achieve the goal, actual analysis method has been used among the enterprises located near the Pusan and at the capital area. The analysis has been performed by using Questionnaire Method. And the hypotheses were testified by SPSS/PC'. The hypotheses are as follows. HⅠ: Success of MIS management may be achieved differently according to the size of enterprises. HⅡ: Success of MIS management may be achieved differently according to the starting time introducing MIS. HⅢ: Success of MIS management may be achieved differently according to the age of enterprises. HⅣ: Success of MIS management may be achieved differently according to the level of system researching and developing in enterprises. HⅤ: Success of MIS management may be achieved differently according to the extent of communications between system user department and programming department. The testing method of hypothesis was ONEWAY ANOVA and t-TEST after having Factor Analysis to testify Reliability and Validity. The results of empirical tests are as follows: 1. Testfication of HⅠ: As the result of analysis on HⅠ showed significance difference in information efficiency, information utilization, and economic achievement at significance level 0.05, MIS effect might be different according to the size of enterprises. 2. Testfication of HⅡ: The result of analysis on HⅡ showed significance difference in information efficiency and economic achievement at significance level 0.05, but it didn't show any difference in information utilization. So this hypothesis has nothing to do with the success of MIS. 3. Testification of HⅢ: The result of analysis on HⅢ showed that there existed some difference in information efficiency and economic achievement, but it didn't show any difference in information utilization. So this hypothesis has also nothing to do with the success of MIS. 4. Testification of HⅣ: The result of analysis on HⅣ showed significance difference in information efficiency, information utilization, and economic achievement at significance level 0.05. So there might exist a significant difference in MIS effect according to the level of system research & development. 5. Testification of HⅤ: The result of analysis on HⅤ showed significance difference in information efficiency, information utilization, and economic achievement at significance level 0.05, so MIS effect might be different according to the extent of communications between system user department and programming department as well. In conclusion, there were some differences in information efficiency, information utilization, and economic achievement according to the size of enterprises, the level of system research & development in enterprise, and the extent of communications between system user department and programming department. - However the starting time of introducing MIS and the age of enterprises showed some difference in information efficiency and economic development, whereas it didn't show any difference in information utilization.
