Yager는 Zadeh에 의해 소개된 확장원리를 기초로 하여 퍼지사건 A의 확률을 P(A) = U^(1)_(α){α/P(A_(α))}로 정의하였다.

Since the concept of fuzzy was introduced by Zadeh in 1965, fuzzy theory has been applied in many fields of sciences including Mathematics. In this paper, we consider the probability and statistics on a fuzzy set, that is, fuzzy events, fuzzy probability, fuzzy expectation, fuzzy hypothesis and fuzzy statistical test based upon preceding investigation. Yager[9] introduced a methodology to obtaining a fuzzy measure of the probability of a fuzzy event in the face of probabilistic uncertainty on the base elements. The approach suggested by Yager is based upon the extension principle introduced by Zadeh. Yager's method is different from Zadeh's definition of the probability of a fuzzy event which leads to a crisp number. In 1991, Klement suggested a modification of Yager's definition which leads to a piecewise continuous fuzzy subset defined over the whole unit interval. A fuzzy hypothesis is introduced by Watanabe and Imaizumi[8], and a testing method of a fuzzy hypothesis is proposed for random data. The proposed test produces a conclusion which is also fuzzy. Some applications of the fuzzy statistical test are demonstrated. Particularly the test of the difference of two population means is considered in detail and the fuzzy hypothesis that two population means are nearly equal is tested by the proposed procedure.
