The gases of CO_(2) , CH_(4), CFCs, N_(2)O, etc cause greenhouse effect and density of these components in the air tends to go on increasing rapidly as industry grows at a faster pace. The speed of global worming gets faster and faster and if the increasing amount of gas which causes green house effect goes on at the rate of current speed, the average temperature of the earth will have gone up about 1.5℃ to 3.5℃ in 2030 and it will make the climate change, make an ecosystem disturb, make the surface of seawater of up, make soil erode. Infrared Gas Analyzer was used to measure components of gases, CH_(4), CO_(2), Portable Hot-Line Current Meter was used and it was set at right angles with direction of the flow. The amount of surface emission of methane was measured by using Chamber. In this research the total amount of methane gas produced in Yong-In Landfill was calculated through Tier 1 and Tier 2 method suggested by IPCC. The maximum CH_(4) amount of landfill based on the Tier 1 of IPCC guideline was 3,600ton-CH_(4)/yr in 1996, the minimum CH_(4) amount was 1,748ton-CH_(4)/yr in 2001, the yearly average CH_(4) amount from FY1996 to FY2004 was 2,526.11ton-CH_(4)/yr, and the total amount for same period was 22,735ton-CH_(4)/yr. However the total CH_(4) amount from FY1996 to FY2004 applied by the Tier 2 as known FOD(First Order Decay) is estimated to 5,838.83ton-CH_(4)/yr. This basic research shows that the result of the Tier 1 is 3.9 times higher value than Tier 2. The main difference between two profile that better reflects the true pattern of the degradation process over time, whereas Tier 1, as known the default method, is based on the assumption that all potential CH_(4) is released in the year the waste is deposed. The default method is giving a resonable annual estimate of actual emissions if the amount and composition of waste deposited have been constant or slowly varying over a period of several decades. Therefore, the IPCC propose that it is good practice to use the FOD method, if possible, because it more accurately reflects the emissions trend over time. The use of the FOD method requires data on current, as well as historic waste quantities, composition and disposal practices for several decades)
