Recently, many constructions are lively going on to supply collective housing , including high-raised apartment building for lack of land for housing lots with the rapid urbanization. In contrast to earlier housing approaches after the 1970s modern architecture, which were developed with the space organization or figure expression, the ecological approaches, which consider the interaction greatly among human, nature, and architecture as well as stress the articulated relations among them, should be intended as a necessary of the needs of the times. So, the purpose of this study was to investigate recent ecological trend of domestic apartment hosing and there by, suggest some efficient ideas about future eco-apartment housing and the summary of the research is here by as follows: the efficient plan for eco-apartment should be like followings. First, artificial land for hosing lots should be developed. Second, the biotope-making technique should be used. Third, the hydrophilic space technique should be created. Fourth, housing with afforestation should be made. Afforestation should be divided into roof, balcony, or wall afforestation. Fifth, open-space in apartment complex should be used as parkland. Finally, certification system for collective housing ecological green zone should be introduced. With the result of this study, residential apartment area should be changed into not simply crowd dwelling places but healthy pleasant livable places where residents directly take part in growing and constructing their own environment as well as in intimate and good harmony with the surrounding nature. That is, after grasping the point of the relation of architecture and environment that is regarded as a direction of today's architecture and by the basis of this, I suggest that the idea about ecological-architecture which is suit in Korean situation should be set up and studies of ecology and environment-friendly architecture should be actively carried on.
