시험설계는 옥수수-밀-대두박-유청 위주의 기초사료에 ① synbiotic제재를 첨가하지 않고 항생제(기초사료중에 OTC 200, 0.05%와 Tiamulin 38g, 0.10%)를 첨가한 US (un-treated synbiotics, basal diet + 0.15% antibiotic), ②혐기성 박테리아와 prebiotic로 만든 BS (bacterial synbiotics; bacterial probiotics with prebiotics), ③혐기성 효모와 prebiotic로 구성된 YS (yeasty synbiotics; yeasty probiotics with prebiotics), ④혐기성 곰팡이와 prebiotic으로 구성된 MS (mouldy synbiotics; mouldy probiotics with prebiotics), ⑤그리고 혐기성 박테리아, 효모 그리고 곰팡이 복합물과 prebiotic으로 구성된 CS[Compounded synbiotics; compounded(bacteria + yeast + mould) probiotics with prebiotics]를 기초사료에 0.20% 첨가한 처리구 등 5개 처리구에 처리당 3반복 반복당 10마리씩 완전임의 배치하였다. 시험설계는 옥수수-밀-대두박-유청 위주의 기초사료에 ① synbiotic제재를 첨가하지 않고 항생제(기초사료중에 OTC 200, 0.05%와 Tiamulin 38g, 0.10%)를 첨가한 US (un-treated synbiotics, basal diet + 0.15% antibiotic), ②혐기성 박테리아와 prebiotic로 만든 BS (bacterial synbiotics; bacterial probiotics with prebiotics), ③혐기성 효모와 prebiotic로 구성된 YS (yeasty synbiotics; yeasty probiotics with prebiotics), ④혐기성 곰팡이와 prebiotic으로 구성된 MS (mouldy synbiotics; mouldy probiotics with prebiotics), ⑤그리고 혐기성 박테리아, 효모 그리고 곰팡이 복합물과 prebiotic으로 구성된 CS[Compounded synbiotics; compounded(bacteria + yeast + mould) probiotics with prebiotics]를 기초사료에 0.20% 첨가한 처리구 등 5개 처리구에 처리당 3반복 반복당 10마리씩 완전임의 배치하였다.

Experiment 1. The Effects of Dietary Synbiotic Complex Composed of Anaerobic Microbes (Bacteria, Yeast and Mould) on the Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, Fecal Pathogenic Populations and Diarrhea Frequency for early-weaned Pigs This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of synbiotic complex (prebiotics+probiotics) composed of anaerobic microorganisms (bacteria, yeast and mould) on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, fecal microbial populations including pathogenics and introduced microorganisms, diarrhea frequency, and emission gases in manure for early-weaned pigs. One hundred and fifty crossed early-weaned pigs (Landrace × Large White × Duroc, 6.80±0.32 kg average initial body weight) weaned at 20±1 d of age were allocated into five treatments for 16 d growth trial. All animals were randomly allotted to each of five dietary treatments in a randommized design. Each treatment was assigned to three pens each with ten animals. Treatments were ① US (un-treated synbiotics, basal diet + 0.15% antibiotic; OTC 200 0.05% and Tiamulin 38g 0.10%), ② BS (bacterial synbiotics; bacterial probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% BS), ③ YS (yeasty synbiotics; yeasty probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% YS), ④ MS(mouldy synbiotics; mouldy probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% MS) and ⑤ CS [Compounded synbiotics; compounded (bacteria+yeast+mould) probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% CS). All of prebiotics used for treatments exception of US treatment were composed of mannan oligosaccharide, lactose, sodium acetate as a same manner. Detailed miroorganisms and dilivery systems for treatments were omitted because of applying patent pending. During the whole experimental period, all of the analyzed data for growth performances including final body weight, daily gain, daily feed intake and feed conversion rate were not significantly affected by treatments(p>0.05). Digestibilities of dry matter and crude protein were significantly(p<0.05) higher in BS treatment than any other treatments. Early-weaned pigs fed bacterial synbiotic (BS treatment) diet had lower ammonia (NH3) and amin(R-NH2) in feces than pigs fed diet with antibiotic (US treatment) (p0.05). All synbiotic treatments increased (p<0.05) in acetate concentration, but decreased (p0.05). Treatment differences were not observed for fecal pH or diarrhea frequency, total bacteria and E. coli populations in samples obtained from feces of early-weaned pigs. This study showed that feeding synbiotics prepared of bacteria and yeasty probiotics and prebiotics including mannanoligosaccharide, lactose, sodium acetate and ammonium citrate influences the composition and activity of the intestinal microflora and may improve growth performance of piglets after early weaning. In conclusion, pigs fed synbiotics diets had similar growth performance to pigs fed antibiotic, and this novel dietary synbiotics sequence may have merit as a replacement for antibiotics in the livestock production industry. Experiment 2. The Effects of Dietary Synbiotic Complex composed of Anaerobic Microbes (Bacteria, Yeast and Mould) on Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, Fecal Microbial Populations, Volatile Fatty Acids and Ammonia Emission from Slurry in Piglets This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of synbiotic complex (prebiotics+ probiotics) composed of anaerobic microorganisms (bacteria, yeast and mould) on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, fecal microbial populations, fecal pH and VFA (Volatile Fatty Acids), and ammonia gas emission from slurry in piglets. One hundred and fifty crossed piglets (Landrace × Large White × Duroc, 11.09±1.27 kg average initial body weight) weaned at 36±1 d of age were allocated into five treatments for 16 d growth trial. All animals were randomly allotted to each of five dietary treatments in a randommized design. Each treatment was assigned to three pens each with ten piglets. Treatments were ① US (un-treated synbiotics, basal diet + 0.15% antibiotic; OTC 200 0.05% and Tiamulin 38g 0.10%), ② BS (bacterial synbiotics; bacterial probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% BS), ③ YS (yeasty synbiotics; yeasty probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% YS), ④ MS(mouldy synbiotics; mouldy probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% MS) and ⑤ CS [Compounded synbiotics; compounded (bacteria+yeast+mould) probiotics with prebiotics, basal diet + 0.2% CS]. All of prebiotics used for treatments exception of US treatment were composed of mannan oligosaccharide, lactose, sodium acetate as a same manner. Detailed miroorganisms and dilivery systems for treatments were omitted because of applying patent pending. Daily feed intake was the highest in MS treatment and the lowest in BS treatment (p<0.05), however, average final body weight, average daily gain, daily feed intake and feed conversion ratio were not affected by synbiotics treatments (BS, YS, MS and CS treatments) compared to antibiotic treatment (US treatment). DM(Dry Matter) and CP(Crude Protein) digestibility were affected by synbiotics (p<0.05), Digestibilities of DM and CP were significantly(p<0.05) higher in BS treatment than any other treatments. However, digestibilities of CF(Crude Fiber) were not affected by synbiotics. Pigs fed bacterial and yeasty synbiotics (BS and YS treatments) diet had lower ammonia (NH3) and amin(R-NH2) emission from slurry in piglets than pigs fed diet with antibiotic (US treatment) (p0.05). Among the treatments, fecal acetate concentration was increased significantly (p<0.05), however, fecal propionate concentration was decreased significantly (p0.05) There were no significant effects of synbiotics or antibiotic on ADG, feed efficiency, or fecal microbial populations in piglets in this study. Feeding diets containing either antibiotic or synbiotics did not improve animal performance or change fecal bacterial populations in the present study, reflecting potential alternative substances to replace antibiotics for feeding piglets. Experiment 3. The Effects of Dietary Synbiotic Complex composed of Anaerobic Microbes (Bacteria, Yeast and Mould) on the quality of fermented TMR (total mixed ration) This study was conducted to evaluate the possibility of using synbiotic complexes (prebiotics+probiotics) composed of anaerobic microorganisms (bacteria, yeast and mould) as a stater inoculant of fermented TMR (total mixed ration) for ruminant animals. Synbiotic complexes were tested for their effects on the fermentation quality, enzyme activity and microbial stability of fermented TMR. One hundred and forty-four TMR containers of 3 kg volume, including 8 treatments × 6 incubation times with triplicates each, were processed in a laboratory scale mini-silo of 21 cm radius by 45 cm height. Containers were opened in a completely randomized design on triplicates at day 1, 3, 5, 7, 14 and 21 d after ensiling for measuring the pH, temperature, NH3-N concentration, enzyme activities including amylase, CMCase and xylanase, and microbiological (bacterial, yeasty, moldy and lactobacillus) enumerations. Eight treatments were ① US (un-treated synbiotics), ② BS (bacterial synbiotics; bacterial probiotics with prebiotics), ③ YS (yeasty synbiotics; yeasty probiotics with prebiotics), ④ MS(mouldy synbiotics; mouldy probiotics with prebiotics), and ⑤ BYS (bacterial and yeasty synbiotics; bacterial and yeasty probiotics with prebiotics), ⑥ BMS (bacterial and mouldy synbiotics; bacterial and mouldy probiotics with prebiotics), ⑦ YMS (yeasty and mouldy synbiotics; yeasty and mouldy probiotics with prebiotics), and ⑧ BYMS (bacterial, yeasty and mouldy synbiotics; bacterial, yeasty and mouldy probiotics with prebiotics). All of prebiotics for treatments exception of US treatment were composed of mannan oligosaccharide, lactose, sodium acetate as a same manner. Detailed miroorganisms and delivery systems for treatments were omitted because of applying patent pending. Results indicated that acidification rates based on pH value for all fermented TMRs were very fast according to incubation periods, no differences occurred among treatments before day 21 d, After day 21 the pH values for fermented TMR treated BYS, BMS, YMS and BYMS tended to decrease especially for treated BYS, resulting in the lowest (p<0.05) finial pH. During the whole incubation periods, all of the internal temperature of the fermented TMR were slightly higher than room temperature, and the temperature increased slightly by delaying the opening day of fermented TMR. At d 5, temperature was significantly(p<0.05) decreased by the addition of all kinds of synbiotics used. And the highest temperature, 27.27℃ was recorded in YS treatment at 21 d incubation period. Compared with control TMR (US treatment silage), the added synbiotics significantly (p0.05) affected by treatments. The microbial population of Lactobacillus (at d 14 of incubation) was significantly (p>0.05) increased by the addition of all kinds of synbiotic complexes except BMS and YMS treatments, that of mould (at d 3 of incubation) was significantly (p>0.05) decreased(p<0.05) except MS treatment. At d 21, we could not found any mouldy colony throughout all treatments. It was concluded that some kinds of synbiotic inoculants may improve the fermentation process of TMR, since fermented TMRs from all synbiotic treatments were maintained quiet good fermentation conditions including pH and fermentation temperature, and the microbial population of Lactobacillus. Experiment 4. Studies on the Aerobic Stability of TMR (total mixed ration) fermented by Synbiotic Complex composed of Anaerobic Microbes (Bacteria, Yeast and Mould) In order to investigate the effects of synbiotics on preservation of total mixed ration(TMR), eight TMRs fermented by synbiotics composing the anaerobic microbes (bacteria, yeast, mold) were alloted to the experimental treatments. Treatments were composed of untreated synbiotics(US), bacterial synbiotics(BS), yeasty synbiotics(YS), mouldy synbiotics(MS), bacterial and mouldy synbiotics(BMS), yeasty and mouldy synbiotics(YMS), bacterial and yeasty synbiotics(BYS), and bacterial, yeasty and mouldy synbiotics(BYMS). After 7 days of anaerobic fermentation, fermented-TMRs were exposed to air during 1, 3, 5, 7, 14 and 21 days. One hundred forty four(8 treatments x 6 days x 3 replications) fermented-TMR were manufactured by vinyl bag sized of 43 cm by 58 cm. according to 8 treatments by 6 exposing days by 3 replications. The results obtained were as follows. Moisture content of TMRs fermented anaerobically ranged from 41% to 45%, and was similar to those of basal TMR. With an aerobic fermentation the concentration of crude protein was decreased by 11.7% to 14.8% in the other treatments, but was rather increased by 11% when the TMR was fermented with BMYS. And also BMYS treatment lowered by 32% for crude fiber, 15.5% for NDF and 26.1% for ADF. The rate of dry matter loss at 21 day after exposing to air was 10.16% for US and 5.26% for BMYS. Although no significant differences among treatments in the activities of CMCase, xylanase and amylase, it was inclined to increase by treatment of BYS or YMS containing yeast. Total bacterial and mould counts also decreased in the treatments containing yeast. Pathogenic bacteria was less detected in BYS and BYMS for E. coli, BYMS and YS for Salmonella, and BMS and BMYS for Shingella than the other treatments, MS was, however, contaminated more easily than US(control)by pathogenic bacteria. From above results, synbiotics containing anaerobic yeast have effects for preservation of TMR fermented anaerobically. Particularly, BYMS treatment having good results in nutrient contents, dry matter loss and pathogenic bacteria counts was a resonable synbiotics for preservation of the fermented-TMR.
