우울의 측정도구로는 BDI(Beck Depression Inventory)를, 불안의 측정도구로는 BAI(Beck Anxiety Inventory)를, 삶의 질 측정도구로는 Skindex29를 사용하였다.

Objectives : Most skin disorders are not recognized as diseases so severe that can be fatal. Furthermore, dermatology symptoms are rarely thought to be associated with physical disabilities. However, in some cases, skin disorders can be a serious problem to patients in psychiatric aspect affectingtheir social activities and human relationships. Particularly, in the case of patients with lesions involving exposed skin regions, likely to induce cosmetic problems, it can affect their quality of life andinduce psychogenic problems. Acne is a socio-psychological momentous disease in that human networking has become a world wide concern so a favorable impressionbecome an important part of daily life. This research reviewed how the severity of acne caninfluence factors such as depressive symptoms, anxiety and quality of life, further, this report is to recommend an optical therapy and provide fundamental materials and data for consultation patients suffering from acne. Methods : 200 patients who visited 'H' local clinic of dermatology in Seoul presenting acne lesions were objectively divided into 'mild’ and 'severe’ clinical symptom groups and were studied. Each group of 100 respondents was asked to answer a questionnaire and 96 and 92 answers sheets from the 'mild’ and 'severe’ groups respectively(a total of 188) who met the inclusion criteria were finally evaluated. As measurement methods, BDI(Beck Depression Inventory) for depressive symptoms, BAI(Beck Anxiety Inventory) for anxiety, Skindex29 for quality of life were used for this project. Data were processed and analyzed using the statistic program SPSS 12.0. Results : Variables that have significantly close relation with depressive symptoms include family history, frequency of onset-age, acne invaded on a cheek, progression of existing acne, scars, past medication history, objective and severity of clinical characteristics. According to the results, anxiety were revealed to have a significantly close relation with family history, frequency of disease, acne invaded on a cheek, progression of existing acne, scars, past medication history, objective and subjective severity of symptoms. The survey indicated that quality of life significantly correlated with marriage, alcohol history, family history, frequency of disease, menstrual cycles, acne invaded on cheeks, progression of existing acne, scars, past medication history, subjective and objective severity. In particular, we controlled some variables such as depressive symptoms, anxiety and significant associated factors of quality of life in order to know whether either subjective or objective severity can be an independent variable to correlate with quality of life if two factors such as depressive symptoms and anxiety were corrected. The results reflected that a group of subjective severity showed that significantly associated factors of Skindex29 include gender, scars, acne invaded on cheek, frequency of disease, depressive symptoms, and anxiety. In a group of objective severity, gender, scar, acneinvaded on cheek, depressive symptoms, anxiety and objective severity showed they correlated with quality of life showing significant differences. Conclusion : It is highly recommended that doctors and paramedics try to understand general characteristics and clinical patternsof patients with 'Adult acne' and consider their psychological status, in addition to their symptomatic patterns.
