This study evaluated the possibility of reclaiming dyeing wastewater as industrial water by treating BOD, COD, SS, color and turbidity contained in dyeing wastewater by applying the final effluent water discharged after being applied with physical, chemical, and biological treatments in A dyeing waste water treatment facility in B City with the use of a micro-nano bubble ozone generator(a device that supplies ozone to liquid after making influent ozone into a micro-nano size bubble, as an aerator) that is able to enhance the dissolving efficiency of ozone compared with a conventional ozone generator. 1. As a result of generating micro bubbles by using the micro-nano bubbles generator, the size of micro-nano bubbles was shown to be below 0.5㎛. 2. As a result of conducting an oxygen transfer test, the time in which a micro-nano bubble reaches the saturation concentration was over 4 times faster than with conventional bubbles; thus, its oxygen solubility speed appeared to be fast. Also, as regards the micro-nano bubbles, the gas transfer speed by bubbles that became micro in size was excellent over the conventional bubbles, and the volume oxygen transfer rate(VOTR) was also found to increase. 3. As for the ozone solubility rate, the initial solubility rate of the conventional bubbles was 8.0%, and when using a micro-nano bubbles generator, it was about 58%; thus, it showed a difference in the solubility rate of over 7 times. This means that it is possible to dissolve a large amount of ozone by using the micro-nano bubbles ozone within a short period. 4. As a result of analyzing the treatment characteristics of the reclaimed dyeing waste water by the effects such as oxidation power and floatation uniquely of bubbles itself, the removal percents for BOD5, CODcr, SS, color and turbidity were shown as being 31.0%, 20.6%, 62.4%, 25.8% and 56.0%, respectively. Thus, it demonstrated a relatively excellent characteristic in removing SS and turbidity only with bubbles itself. 5. When applying the micro-nano bubbles ozonation system, it displayed a 41.4% removal efficiency of BOD5, a 60.0% removal efficiency of CODcr, a 90.0% removal efficiency of SS, a 78.8% removal efficiency of color, and a 79.0% removal efficiency of turbidity. Meanwhile, when applying the conventional bubbles ozonation system, BOD5 showed an increase, and it demonstrated a 20% removal efficiency of CODcr, a 23.4% removal efficiency of SS, a 32.5% removal efficiency of color, and a 32.0% removal efficiency of turbidity. Thus, the use of the micro-nano bubble ozonation system was found to enhance the removal efficiency of pollutants. Specifically for CODcr, the removal efficiency was found to improve 3 times when applying the micro-nano bubble ozonation system compared to the conventional bubbles ozonation system. 6. As a result of reviewing the possibility of the reclaiming of the dyeing waste water (the standards of reclaiming water for industry: pH 6.5~8.5, SS 10㎎/L or below, BOD 6㎎/L or below, turbidity 10NTU or below, E-coli 1,000/100mL or below) as industrial water by using micro-nano-bubble ozonation system, which is the purpose of this study. Initial pH in the dyeing waste water is 7.4. E-coli was not found in the waste water. Thus, it satisfied the standards of reclaiming as industrial water. Also, BOD, SS, and turbidity were shown to satisfy the standard values of reclaiming as industrial water, constituting 2.4㎎/L, 3.0㎎/L, and 9.3NTU, respectively. Therefore, when applying a micro-nano bubbles ozonation system treatment process to the reclaimed water of dyeing waste water, reclaimed water quality was found to satisfy the reclaiming standards as industrial water. However, given that the treatment efficiency of organic matter(COD and BOD etc.) is low and the test condition was in batch, the treatment of wastewater that is produced on a pilot-scale is deemed to require more research.
