The purpose of this study is to explore the changes in the concentration of blood minerals and activated muscle enzymes in blood before and after drinks of 14 Kendo players from S University. They were divided into an experimental group consisting of 7 people and a control group of another 7 people. The experiments were conducted four times in total: they were highly exhausting exercises to measure blood minerals and enzymes during stable condition, before exercise and three minutes after drink intake; right after the exercise; and after recovery for 15 minutes. In addition, to handle the data I carried out a two-way ANOVA and Duncan's post-hoc test to review the average value to eventually obtain the following outcomes: 1. While Ca^(++) there was a meaningful difference in groups before and after the drinks and the interactive effect at the time of the blood sampling and showed a significant difference depending on blood sampling timing. However, there was no significant difference in the two groups between isotonic drinks and water intakes. 2. As for Fe^(++), there was a meaningful difference in groups before and after the drinks and the interactive effect at the time of the blood sampling and showed a significant difference depending on blood sampling timing. However, there was no significant difference in the two groups between isotonic drinks and water intakes. 3. while there was no significant difference in groups before and after Mg^(+) drinks, it had a significant difference depending on the time of blood sampling. However, there was no significant difference in the two groups between isotonic drinks and water intakes. 4. CK had a significant difference in groups before and after drink intakes and the interactive effect of the time of blood sampling. However, there was no significant difference in the two groups between isotonic drinks and water intakes. 5. LDH had no significant difference in groups before and after drink intakes and the interactive effect of the time of blood sampling. The result on the difference between the groups that consumed isotonic drinks and water revealed that they a statistically significant difference. To sum up the above outcomes, drink intake before exercise affected the changes in blood mineral Fe^(++) and activated muscle enzyme, CK saved some blood minerals such as Ca^(++), Mg^(+), activated muscle enzyme LDH, whereas blood miner alssuchas activated muscle enzyme LDH and activated muscle enzyme CK and LDH were in fluenced by the time of blood sampling. The difference between isotonic drink and water intake groups were found in activated muscle enzyme LDH only. Thus, to determine whether or not drink intake before exercise would result in significant effect in every aspect of the body metabolism, it would be necessary to design an experiment by utilizing Kendo practices in accordance with experiment conditions and carry out a study to consider both environment-related factors and the intensity of exercise, which would greatly contribute to improving Kendo players’ performances.
