"The miracle of the Multiplication"(Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:30-44, Luke 9:10-17, John 6:1-15) recorded in four Gospels is a pictogram of a messiamic feast with a significant meaning literarily and theologically, that is, a party of the Kingdom of God. This study aims to investigate how “the miracle of the Multiplication” is associated with the Kingdom of God and the ministry of Jesus Christ. In order to achieve this research purpose, the subject of the Kingdom of God, which is the main source of the Gospel of St. Matthew recorded with a literary structure as a whole is identified and relation with the front and rear contexts in the text and the body of writing are analyzed literarily. The whole structural analysis of the Gospel of St. Matthew is to identify whether it shows centrality of the Kingdom of God. This study uses Chiasm 2 of H. J. B. Combrink more delicate than The Pentateuchal Theory of B. W. Bacon and christological structure of J. D. Kingsbury so as to explain that the central subject of the Gospel of St. Matthew is the Kingdom of God and which role the text plays in the whole structure. And literary function and intention of the text in such overall structure of Matthew are examined in order to identify that Jesus Christ recognizes his death while dark shadow of his death proposed in the subject, “exclusion” comes closer to him and he displays the meaning of his death through the miracle of the Multiplication. In chapter 14, structural analysis through an adjacent context investigates impact and role of the text so as to observe the connection of the front and back stories with the text. “The miracle of the Multiplication” of the Gospel of St. Matthew happened between the death of John the Baptist and the event that Jesus walked through the water gives a notice of the death of the messiah, Jesus Christ through John the Baptist and lets us know about salvation completed by messiah's death and the Kingdom of God. Structural analysis of the text theologically investigates how Jesus Christ teaches the advent of the Kingdom of God. In addition, it investigates the relation of the Manna and Quails in the Old Testament, Elisah's story that rescued one hundred people with 20 barley rice cakes and the Last Supper of the New Testament with the death of Jesus Christ by approaching them philologically to make clear that “the miracle of the Multiplication” is to describe the advent of Kingdom of God through literary structural analysis and theological approach. This consideration shows that “the miracle of the Multiplication” is a lesson meaning the Kingdom of God as explanation and allusion regarding mission and fate of Jesus Christ, as a succession of Manna and quails in the Old Testament and as a sign to suggest his death, not a simple miracle. Also, this study uses theological approach and christological approach centered on the subject, “the Kingdom of God” together. Theologically, “the miracle of the Multiplication” is a pictogram of the party in the Kingdom of God interpreted by the central subject of the Gospel of St. Matthew and it is recognized to be an event exposing the concept and property of the Kingdom of God. Therefore, this study has a significance to examine not only strategical importance of the miracle of the Multiplication in the Gospel of St. Matthew and the meaning of the Kingdom of God, but its theological meaning through a literary structural analysis of the meanings of christology, discipleship and ecclesiology. In addition, by comparing each text of four Gospels, this article studies on 'the miracle of the Multiplication' in more depth.
